The truth is they actually deal with electricity and power generation and transmission. Study of electrical machines, transformers, motors, and generators forms the major part of the curriculum.

Although Electrical Engineering isn't as popular as it once used to be, it is one of the core branches of engineering and basically focuses on study and application of electricity, electronics, wave theory, control systems, power electronics, etc. It deals with generation and transmission of power and the methodology implemented. It also covers some fundamental aspects of Electronics engineering. It covers the entire machinery used in industries and the various types available. To sum it up, it gives a vivid image of all that works on power/electricity.
