BSAT 2010 - The Test

IBSAT 2010: IBSAT is an aptitude test conducted by the federation of universities (FedUni), for students seeking admission into the management programs. IBSAT consists of multiple choice questions. IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant’s ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension

PG Programs in management: The program prepares the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business around the world. The program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt and integrate those skills in different management situations.

Program Structure: The program comprises of 28 courses of which 20 are compulsory courses and eight are elective courses, a summer internship program, a management research project and two soft skills labs (audit courses). These courses are spread over four semesters. In addition to these, the student can also pursue two optional free elective courses.

Semester I: Marketing management-I, Quantitative methods, Financial management-I, Organizational behavior, Management economics, Information systems for managers, Accounting for managers, Business communication

Semester II: Marketing Management-II, Operations management, Financial management-II, Human resource management, Macroeconomics and Bus. Env., Business research methods, Enterprisewide Information systems, Legal Environment of Business, Soft Skills Lab-I

Semester III: Business Strategy-I, Management control systems, Elective-I, Elective-II, Elective-III, Elective-IV, Optional free elective-I, Soft Skills Lab-II

Semester IV: Business Strategy-II, Bus. Ethics and Corp. Governance, Elective-V, Elective-VI, Elective-VII, Elective-VIII, Optional Free Elective-II, Management Research Project

The program structure given is tentative and subject to change.

Electives: The students can pursue elective courses in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Information Technology and Systems. Each student must choose eight electives. While four of these electives must be from a single stream, the others can be from any other stream. To specialize in a particular stream, a student has to pursue at least four electives from that stream. Thus a student can acquire a dual specialization by choosing four electives from one stream and another four from a second stream.

Admission modalities for PGPM program offered at the following IBS campus: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi (Cochin), Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida and Pune

Eligibility criteria: A bachelor’s degree with medium of instruction as English, from any discipline, with 50% and above marks as calculated by respective university.

Applicants in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations/via/assignments before May 31, 2010

 

Such applicants will have to produce a certificate to that effect at the time of admission. For any extension of this deadline, the applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their graduation examination. Extension may be granted on the basis of the circumstances of the case. The admission of applicants will however, remain provisional until they produce mark sheets and a degree certificate establishing their eligibility. Applicants who are appearing for backlog examinations of previous terms/ semesters/year after May 31, 2010 are not eligible.

The last date for submission the proof of graduation is October 01, 2010, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

For the purpose of determining eligibility (for all the programs) based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the respective university in award of the degree will only be taken into consideration.

All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of regular education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis). Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible.

Applicants not meeting the eligibility criterion of English medium have to submit the TOEFL/IELTS/NELTS scores by June 01, 2010

Exempted Candidates: The test scores from any of the following test(s) are accepted by the admissions committee for seeking admission into the PGPM Program, ISBAT 2009*, GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA (*for IBSAT 2009, enclose the interview call letter)

Such students are exempted from IBSAT 2010 and required to complete the application form along with photocopies of scorecard(s) and submit at, Admissions officer (PGPM), #6-3-354/1/2, Hindi Nagar, Punjagutta, Hyderabad-500034, Tel 040-23385000, Fax 040-23385100, Email [email protected]

Students who do not have the test score of any one of the above tests are required to appear for IBSAT 2010

How to Apply: Applicants interested in appearing for IBSAT 2010 can apply by any one of the following methods.

Application form: Applicants are required to fill up the application form and send it to the admissions officer, IBSAT office (address given above). The self attested copies of X class, XII class and graduation marks sheets are to be enclosed along with the application form. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the mark sheets up to the current semester/year

Online application: Applicants can apply online by filling up the application form available at website and make payment of Rs. 1100/- towards the cost using credit/debit card (visa/master card/citibank card) through secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying through online should attach their scanned color photograph along with the online application. The application material will be sent to such applicants.

Download of application form: Alternatively, applicants can download the application form from website, complete it and send it to the admissions officer along with the demand draft of Rs. 1100/- towards the cost (demand draft in favor of ‘IUCF A/c IBSAT’ payable at Hyderabad). The application material will be sent to such applicants.

Documents to be sent with application form: The applicants applying through any one of the above modes should enclose the self attested copies of X class, XII class and graduation mark sheets (year wise/semester wise) along with the application form. The students applying online have to forward the attested copies of their mark sheets to the admissions officer. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the mark sheets up to the current semester/year

Last date for application: The last date for receipt of completed application form for IBSAT 2010 is April 18, 2010

All applicants are advised to adhere to the last date prescribed for submission of the application form. Submit the application form as early as possible to improve the chances of getting the test center of your choice.

E-Mail: It is mandatory for all the applicants to indicate their e-mail ID, as all important information relating to IBSAT will be intimated to the applicants by e-mail.

Similarly all applicants are required to send their letters/correspondence by e-mail only to [email protected] clearly indicating their names and application number of IBSAT

24 test centers all over India: IBSAT 2010 will be conducted at 24 test centers across India. The applicants can choose any one of the test center available for IBSAT 2010. Note that requests for change of test center will not be entertained under normal circumstances. In the event of not having enough seats at the requested test center, applicants will be allotted the nearest alternative center. IBSAT Office reserves the right to add or delete a few test centers depending upon the situation. The same will be intimated on the website for the benefit of applicants.

Online admit card: All applicants who have applied for IBSAT are eligible to download online admit cards from website, using the application number and date of birth as their user name and password respectively from April 02, 2010 onwards. The online admit card will carry the photo, name, address, roll number of the applicant, test date, timings, and details of the test center. No hard copies of admit cards will be sent. The admit card is not transferable. Impersonation is a punishable offence under law.

IBSAT results: Candidates called for Interviews based on their performance in IBSAT 2010 will be informed on May 09, 2010 by e-mail.

Online admit cards: from April 02, 2010 onwards at www.ibsat.org (no hard copies will be mailed)

IBSAT date: April 25, 2010 (Sunday) 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon

Reporting time: 9.00 am at test center

Interviews in May 2010: The short listed candidates will be called for interviews on May 15 and 16, 2010 (any one day). The interview process for each candidate will be completed in one day.

Admission decisions are taken by each IBS campus independently based on the requirements. Candidates who have been called and attended the interview in February 2010 and selected need not appear for interview again. They will be automatically eligible for admission into the PGPM program of IBS as indicated in the selection letter.

Commencement of classes: The regular classes will commence from June 01, 2010
