Preparation:

Honestly, I did not study for CAT. I had joined coaching classes. I used their material and concept books. They provided us with loads of practice material but I did not manage to open any of those books. I was just taking the Mock CAT and analyzing my results i.e. strengths and weaknesses. I used to get anywhere between 90-95 percentile. I was quick at solving DI questions. So I could afford to spend more time on other sections. I used to be overconfident about quant. I actually did not manage to overcome it as I got 92.8 percentile in my quant section.

Advice to juniors:

Well, one important thing is to not hype the whole CAT exam. It is a test of your aptitude. Do not over prepare and lose the bigger picture. Practising is useful, but I advise you to give your Mocks properly. You should spend a fair amount of time analyzing your result section-wise, question type-wise, etc. Analyzing helps a lot to know about your areas of strength and weakness. I did not practice at all but I used to analyze my Mock results very minutely.
