Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)

General Description:

 

The SNAP is a pretty simple paper-pencil test, conducted by the Symbiosis University for admission to a range of its B-schools.

 

Accepting Institutes:

  • Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM)
  • Symbiosis Center for Information Technology
  • Symbiosis Institute of Operations Managements
  • Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD)
  • Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM)
  • Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB)
  • Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS)
  • Symbiosis School of Banking Management (SSBM)

 

Dates:

The exam is usually conducted on a Sunday in December every year.

 

Eligibility:

  • A graduates from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.
  • Student appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at qualifying examination.

 

Format and Peculiarities:

The SNAP has as many questions as the number of minutes allotted (150), so it’s essentially a test of your speed. Questions are more or less straightforward, so coming as close as possible to completing the exam should be an aim. There is also a section on General Awareness. Usually there are no sectional cutoffs. The general pattern is tabulated below:

Tips:

As must be pretty clear by now, you need to be real quick if you want to crack the SNAP. There’s no point wasting time on a question if it’s taking long to solve. Move on and be quick.

Another thing you should look to brush up is your general knowledge; they have a section dedicated to it.
