NMAT Merit List Declared

The Merit List for SVKM's Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), Mumbai, Shirpur and Bangalore campuses for admissions to Engineering (4 year course B.Tech) and Engineering + MBA (5 year course MBA T.ech) for academic year 2013 is declared.

The Entrance Test (NMAT) for admissions to Engineering (4 year course BTech) and Engineering + MBA (5 year course MBA Tech) to SVKM's Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), Mumbai, Shirpur and Bangalore campuses, will be held on May 12th, 2013.

NMAT Engg. Entrance 2013 on May 12th

Registrations for the entrance test has already begun and the last date to register is April 25th. Candidates who wish to study at MPSTME have to compulsorily take the the Online Test held on May 12th from 10 am to 12 pm. Log on to the MPSTME Website and REGISTER.

Admissions to Engineering Colleges affiliated to Mumbai University will be based MT CET - scheduled on May 16, 2013.

MPSTME to Follow Dual Semester from 2013-14

SVKM's Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), Juhu, which follows a trimester pattern (three semester per academic year) for engineering discipline, will now conduct two semesters from academic year 2013-14.

While most engineering colleges in Mumbai, and across the country, follow a dual semester pattern every year, MPSTME is one such private college which has been well known for its cumbersome trimester pattern. Even though the official news is not declared by the management, sources have told stupidsid that the coming academic year (2013-14) MPSTME will follow the same pattern just like other engineering colleges in India.

"October - February - May are the probable months when the exams are conducted in MPSTME. The trimester pattern becomes extremely hectic. As soon as the semester ends, within a couple of days, the next semester begins. There is hardly any break if you are studying in this college", quotes Snehal, a third year student. "Assignment, submissions, projects and mid semester exams hardly leaves any time to study for the final exam", he adds.

MPSTME is an SVKM institute which offers several professional and degree courses like Engineering, Managmenet, Dual Degree (Engg. + Mgmt) in various disciplines. The college is also famous for its 5 year MBA Tech program.

"What is still unclear is that whether the current students will also follow dual semester pattern or continue with the old pattern", asks Akshita, a second year student from Delhi. The management spokesperson remained unvailable for his comment on the same.

Admission to MPSTME in Vile Parle (Mumbai) and Shirpur takes place through its separate entrance test (NMAT) which is generally conducted after the Mahrashtra Common Entrance Test (MT CET) in May.

MT CET 2013 is scheduled on May 16th. NMAT 2013 is scheduled 12th May.
