Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology is organising its annual technical festival which is called "PRAXIS-2013" which is going to be held on the 31st July and 1st August 2013.

Established in 1984, Vivekanand Institute of Technology is one of Mumbai's premier engineering institutes, which has been imparting high quality education and has striven to raise the bar of excellence. With this mega-event, VESIT opens vistas of technical advancement for budding engineers by allowing them to participate in competitions which test their grit, knowledge and skill. The theme this year is 'STREET ENGINEERING'.

 Live-Wire:

For all the hardware freaks, LiveWire is an on-the-spot hardware contest which will test how good you are at thinking on your toes and getting those confounded circuits to work.

 Circuit Work-It:

Circuit work-it is an open hardware contest which compels your brain cells to do some real sorting. Come up with hardware systems for commercial and industrial applications.

 

SOFTWARE RELATED EVENTS:

• C-Voyage
  This C programming contest brings the best coders together competing in an intellectually stimulating environment. Participants have to develop optimal codes that work, are bug free and draw on efficient algorithms
   
• Connect-i-cut
  Connect-i-cut aims at testing the computer networking skills of the participants. In essence the event will involve a basic LAN setup, demonstrating successful communication between nodes on the network and carrying out a variety of tasks that are related to resource sharing.
   
• Weave The Web
  Given a theme on the spot, design your own website in a limited period of time with the given resources! Teams are allowed to use only a predetermined number of softwares like Photoshop, Corel Draw, Front Page, Dream Weaver and Paint..

TREASURE HUNT

What’s common between “Pirates of Caribbean” and “The National Treasure”? The “Treasure” of course!!

Praxis brings to you an incredible hunt for treasure in the streets of Mumbai.

Pick up your crew, fuel your car and get ready to solve some conundrums and find the hidden treasure or be prepared to lose yourself in the labyrinth of puzzles. 

 

ROBOTICS:

---

• Robo-Soccer:  The Beautiful Game of Soccer is back. Play soccer on a miniature soccer field in this event.
   
• Monster Race: Make your way through the hills and valleys, rivers and beaches as your robots are tested for their strength and maneuverability in this obstacle race.
   
• Robo-Wars :This event tests the power and maneuverability of the robot which are essential for its survival. It tests the controller’s mastery over the controls while the robots go head to head to put the opponents out of the ring. The aim is to create a robot whose sole purpose is to push, throw, flip, drag or otherwise move the opponent out of the ring within the prescribed time.
   
• Level III Robotics [Auto-Bot]: Build a line follower that traverses the race track in the least possible time with no shortcuts allowed.
   
• Blind Ride: Find out in this fun based robotics event where participants have to guide their robots through an obstacle filled path while the person maneuvering the bot is blind folded An event to test the maneuverability of the robot & the controller’s alertness to his partner instructing him directions.
   
• Touch me not: In this event, an antenna will be placed over the bot. there will be a maze like structure in air. The task is to guide the robot through the maze without letting the antenna touch it. This event will be conducted in a dark place and the robot will not be visible to the controller.
