Young lecturers (graduated from the same Institute) behaveiour is not good with the students. Eratic behaveiour. If they don't listen to him he is not giving marks in practicals. VIVA - he gives zero not even asking any questions. What is the fate of the students? This is happening in CMRIT. He directly threatens the boys I will do like this only, if you want you complain with anyone I know to take care. Why Management not taking any action against him? How the students will directly complain when he threatens like this? Every one is scared of their future..

Students claim that most of their lecturers are previous year passouts from CMRIT itself! They have at the most 1-2 years of teaching experience and thus the students aren't satisfied with the teaching.

The grand entrance to the college greets you to one of the biggest campuses amongst engineering colleges in Bangalore. Right behind the parking lot, some guys are seen busy netting the ball in the basketball court. On the other side is a splendid football pitch/cricket ground and behind that the academic blocks. Parts of the campus are still under-construction and students say that they face certain issues with their lab equipments and some other academic needs, although sports and recreation are well taken care of.

It's not one of the biggest campuses in Bangalore... not even close. It's just around 8.5 acres.

The college has a decent placement record with roughly 80% of the students getting jobs. There is not much disparity between the average salary (3.6 lakh/annum) and the highest salary (4.2 lakh/annum) here. The major recruiters are TCS, Accenture, IBM, L&T.

During my time the placements were average. From what I heard, the 2011 batch had very good companies to choose from.

CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) is located off ITPL Road (aka Whitefield Road) in far-eastern Bangalore, not too far from the Outer Ring Road. However, few BMTC buses, mostly 500C from Banashankari or some other 500-series buses, ply right outside the college. In terms of accessibility, CMRIT can be said to be fair; not great, but tolerable. Bus facilities are provided by the college authorities as well, but none of the students prefer them and the service mostly finds takers only amongst the faculty.

“Hostels are perhaps the worst that any college can ever have” comments a frustrated resident of the girls’ hostel, “They’re in a pathetic condition” she continues. Boys’ hostels are said to be no better; problems faced are similar in both the hostels: shortage of water, bad food and exorbitant fees (as high as Rs. 75,000/- per year)

Hostel? its again WORST.... no place for washing clothes even on the floor, but they take 7000/yr as washing machine charge..... and 2000 for wifi and that's also unavailable, no hot water, and I have to spend 3 years of my life here.

CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) has recently built a new food court which is quite good although it is rather expensive. That probably explains why there's always more than enough place to sit.

You can hangout all you like in the IT Parks around the college. Might as well get used it, that's what you're probably going to be doing for the next few years here anyway.

The girls to boys ratio is 2:3 which is a refreshing change for any engineering college. In terms of geographical diversity, about 70% of the students are from North India, which again is slightly extraordinary in Bangalore.

CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) wants every student to attend more than 85% of the academic sessions in each semester. Defaulters are punished even at a mere 1% shortage in attendance. Fines ranging from Rs. 500-10,000/- are charged proportionate to the lack in attendance. Apart from strict attendance, certain disciplinary rules also need to be adhered to, and that includes dress codes, ban on interaction between girls and boys, no mobile phones, no round neck tshirts, no sleeveless dresses for girls and I-cards to be worn all the time.

CMRIT, once good, NOW a SINKING SHIP.
It is on the verge of collegeapse.
8- gate closed, students are beaten, they force shortage of attendance to take money during examination, result less than 60%, no M.Tech admission, seats vacant, no faculty joining, research activity big zero... very shameful... Be careful while opting for CMRIT.

Students say that CMRIT is just a modernized school; extra-curriculars are not encouraged, attendance is too strict and disciplinary measures are unreasonable. However, above average placements and a decent crowd make it a 7 on 10.

Even if you are coming 10 mins late means all the doors were closed and you have to wait til next lecture. The lectures are also not experienced persons as well as all are Mtech passouts.25000/- Rs of college fees is rather expensive to those of middle class family. the college timings are too rediculous @8.00 am to 3.50pm, would you imagine how pathetic condition here in CMRIT college. placements is only 50% for CS/IS/TC/EC.
