The college was established in 1996 & some of the faculties are with the college since its inception. Teachers are experienced & helpful. They take personal interest in weak students to help them pass. Some of them are very strict.

most of the staff members are arrogant... Elex HOD is great, he's student friendly... for Maths only male teachers are outstanding.. female teachers just shout and do all the 'ratta' of maths

Finolex Academy of Management & Technology is certainly a strong contender for largest campuses among Mumbai University engineering colleges. It is green and beautiful, too. There is a separate building for each department. Labs, library & classrooms are decent. College hostel is not within the campus. It is an average hostel & students have quite many complaints towards it. Of which the one about food is most prominent.

Even though the college is run by founders of Finolex Industries, placements are extremely poor. Hardly any student manages to get placed each year.

Finolex Academy of Management & Technology (FAMT) is located in Ratnagiri town, 3.5 km away from railway station and 6 km from bus depot. Airport is just a kilometer away. Surrounding area is sparsely populated and Maruti Mandir which is center of town and buzzing with activities is 4 km away. Overall it's a very peaceful place but accessibility is poor and there's nothing around. Mumbai University sub-center is also in the campus of college.

There are very limited hangouts in nearby areas. There are some good restaurants in Ratnagiri. There's also a fort called Ratnadurg. Ganapatipule & other beaches are weekend get-aways. Hostelites mostly head home in holidays.

Majority of the crowd is local to Ratnagiri or they come from nearby rural areas. There are many a students from Kolhapur and a handful of students from Mumbai as well. Almost everyone here is Maharashtrian & they converse in Marathi too. Students from other background might not be able to adjust here easily.

Finolex Academy of Management & Engineering is the oldest and probably the best college under MU in Konkan region. Things apart from placements are pretty smooth. Mumbai students can keep this as their last resort if they don't mind staying in a small town.

Fees are 55k now... They talk about rules and ethics but no one follows it... Just outside the campus you have Big Bite wich is only for BOYS and their stuff... airport doesn't exist anywhere it's just a piece of land.overall.. if you are a self studying nerd then you are welcome to the college...
