You can't expect the cream of the city to travel all the way to Koparkhairane to teach at a relatively newer college, can you? But it's not too bad. Well qualified, co-operative and good at teaching except for a teachers who've come from remote areas of the state and have a little difficulty expressing their knowledge.

While there's nothing great about the infrastructure at Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy (GIP), it isn't too bad either. The newly-made building certainly looks better than the others around it, but that isn't really saying much. The one appreciable point is perhaps that the college has a generator, so they don't lose power during load shedding. There's also a small ground behind the college, where they host their 'sports day'. All in all mediocre infra, and amongst the daily necessities - clean classrooms and well equipped labs keep the students satisfied. One thing they claim needs to improve is the library; not enough books, not enough space.

Absolutely no support from the college. Students have to hunt for jobs on their own or opt for higher studies.

Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy (GIP) is just a 15 minutes walk from Koparkhairane Railway station. There are also few buses which go to this college, but if you have company from the railway station it is advisable to take an autorickshaw as it comes to just the minimum fare.

It's closed!! Perhaps because most students bring their own tiffins to college and there are few takers of the canteen food, thus it's not favourable for any of the contractors.

Except for a few small food outlets (which didn't appear to be very hygienic), there's nothing really close to the college. And far they cannot go, for attendance is what they fear!

The crowd doesn't put up a very enthusiastic environment but students gel along pretty well. There's good interaction even amongst the first years and the final years. Coming to the boys to girls ratio, well the boys here consider themselves lucky; 2/3rd of the class are girls.

There are no festivals organised by Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, but the students here actively participate in "Rx" the inter collegiate pharmacy event. They boast of having won the first rank in the cultural cum sports event.

Earlier Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy (GIP) charged small fines for every lecture that students bunked. Although this trend has now stopped since some of the students protested, the institute is still very particular about attendance. Parents are called and letters are sent even if the students miss one lecture without prior permission. 75% is absolutely mandatory.

Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy (GIP) isn't the best of the lot, but it's progressing at a good pace. Perhaps the third best choice for Pharmacy in Navi Mumbai.
