Teachers are experienced and helpful, and most importantly good at teaching. The principal is a very understanding person, so the entire functioning of the system goes smoothly.

The campus is pretty small (yet it is shared by another college - KC College of Law) and just consists of a single six storey building dedicated to HR College. All the classrooms are big enough to accommodate the students comfortably and are equipped with air-conditioners (which are only occasionally put on, especially when some inspections are on the way). The library is stocked with a lot of books, pertaining to the academic needs, as well as other interesting reads. There is a nice Conference hall that is used during events like competitions, debates, or guest lectures. There is a small little canteen on the terrace, and the main canteen known as the 'Butterfly cafe' in the campus.

HR College of Commerce and Economics is located at a very pleasant 5 minute walk from Churchgate station (W.Rly) in close proximity to the biggest business hub and one of the most beautiful landmarks of Mumbai - Nariman Point. Reaching the college isn't an issue even if you stay somewhere on the Central or Harbour Lines since BEST Bus Route No. 138 ferries people from CST to Chruchgate almost every 3 minutes. If you are a bus-lover, fear not, innumerable buses ply close to the college since this is one prime areas of Mumbai.

The canteen at HR College is very popularly known as "The Butterfly Cafe" not just amongst students at HR but also amongst students of other colleges in the vicinity.  It serves terrific Chinese food and is always hustle-bustle with students chattering over a cup of coffee or some of them just lingering around. It's a little small to accomodate many students at the same time but the students out here don't mind it.

South Mumbai has countless places which can act as great hangout joints. Movie theatre "Eros" - one of the few light on pocket yet decent with the crowd theatres - is a stone's throw away. Regal, Inox, Sterling, New Excelsior aren't too far either. To catch a fresh breeze of air and have nice little walk there's Marine Drive which obviously is the most popular past time amongst students at HR College. Numerous restaurants and snack joints include Samrat, 210 degrees, Relish, Pizzeria, Gaylord, Mocha, Shiv Sagar, Satkar and many more names crop up if do not mind a tiny vehicle ride. Another popular and cheap hangout is the Sandwich and Rolls stall bang opposite the gate which serves a must-try "Chilli Cheese Toast"

One of the finest and most sophisticated crowd you'll ever come across in a college not to mention the beautiful girls hanging out with the cool handsome guys - something that comes naturally to a Sindhi-minority college. Many students hail from rich family backgrounds and are seen around showing off their "kewl" bikes or luxurious sedans. Intelligent and smart kids are also aplenty; so it's up to you - which kind of company you wish to fall into.

RCHR – Rotaract Club of HR is the most famous and exciting (rather happening) club to get into.  The activity quotient is so high that there are almost more events conducted than days in the year (around 400 events conducted in 365 days, now that’s some activity !!).
Various sports tournaments,  debates, competitions, and the famous Promnite is conducted by the RCHR.

HR College of Commerce and Economics is perhaps the most student-friendly in terms of attendance especially in Degree college. Attendance is quite an important factor for students preparing for the Chartered Accountancy course along with Degree College and the students thus get great support from the college on that front. Certain tests that are required to be conducted apart from the usual exams by the Mumbai University (as per the new credit system introduced for B.com course) are conducted online. Hence you don’t need to go to college. However, as per this system attendance and class participation carries marks which may be lost straight away if you don’t attend. Attendance for other courses like BAF and BFM is important as the project work could get affected otherwise. At junior college a 40% attendance would be sufficient, and the college doesn't cause much problems.

Don't think one bit if you get this college, you are going to love the college, the place, and the people you meet here the most. Great time is the least you can have here, and good learning goes along.
