Being a law college, unlike other professional courses, the faculty generally is much more experienced and senior, who have been practicing law, or other form of legal services. The faculties have been associated with the high courts, and other district courts. The experiences and cases the faculties talk about from their own personal careers are really interesting, and particularly when relevant, is a great learning experience. So classroom lectures does not just mean studying the course of the syllabus, but also the way the faculty faced the situations. Education here is absolutely knowledge oriented, and not exam or in worse cases on an institute level, profit oriented. There are Para-Legal services seminars organized in the college too. About 30-40 of about 180 students are also selected for legal camps that are conducted to provide free legal advice. The participants are awarded with a certificate and stipend too.

The MSS Law College is relatively new being established only in 2008. The college doesn’t have a huge campus, but spread around in small blocks. The library is big, and has a lot of books that students need. Multiple copies of books are available, and seldom do students have to face a shortage. Internet can be accessed at the computer lab, but not many really require internet for academic purposes. For notification and updates, the CR sends out emails to students from the college itself.

There is nothing like an organized campus placement here, but faculty will be more than willing to guide students through their personal contacts. People also try themselves at different firms, and for different profiles that interest them. Being a lawyer, doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be advocates, so people even go back to their professions, or take up consultancy.

Located in the heart of the city, Chaderghat, is very well connected by a network of RTC buses and MMTS railway system. Koti is the main centre around, and is walkable so getting a bus to any part of the city is easy and convenient. Kachiguda and Malakpet MMTS stations are both close-by. Almost 60% students use the RTC buses to get here. To name a few buses that come here; 1 series, 2 series, 71 series, 72 series, 100 – 101 – 102 series, 158 series, and 277 series are the major ones. So connectivity is no issue. About 30% of students get their own vehicles to the college.

The canteen is common with all the other MSS colleges that run in the campus. Not many really prefer eating at the canteen, and hence carry their own lunch. Those who don’t carry lunch, there are plenty options around the college too. Bakeries and stalls serve a variety of tasty stuff. Most of the days the college is only for half day, so many can do even without meals.

Although there is nothing immediately outside the campus, but there’s loads of things around. Himayat Nagar, Koti, Abids, Dilsukh Nagar, all these happening areas around to chill, eat, watching movies. Located in the heart of the city, nothing is far.

The crowd is a wide-wide variety of students; from people right after their 12th standard, to retired officers 70 years old, serving in the central railways. The 3 year LLB course is open to any graduate, without any age restrictions. Some take up Law, just to gain a legal perspective of things, some so that it can help them in their professional careers and some so that they learn while they have already had prosperous careers behind of them. MNC employees, High Court employees also take up law studies here. Majority of the people are from a B.Com background. Those for the 5 year course, are fresher students right after their inter college.

Mostly law students do not have a lot of time for celebrating festivals like other courses. Moot court competition is more of a ‘law’ thing, and is organized for the 3rd years’ and here that’s a big level festival.

The College is very flexible when it comes to this factor, as students from a varied background (in the 3 year L.L.B. Course). The college understands that not everyone can attend college regularly, so is comfortable about it. Those who want to study are always welcome. The lectures are conducted regularly, for those who miss the lecture during the week, there are also revision lectures. Things are a bit different for the 5 year LLB program students, with attendance being relatively stricter.

The College is a good place for learning, where you may get to meet interesting seniors experienced faculty. The management is decent, with flexibility in various aspects. Although a typical law school, exposure is not bad. Placements could be an issue, but if you build your profile along with the course, you might not have issues in finding a job.
