Few of the faculty members are highly experienced with around 15 years of average experience. But most of others are not having good experience and they’re yet pursuing their masters. Some of them are recent pass outs. But then the college encourages the professors to go for doctorate. Many of the professors are pursuing higher studies, some even doing a PhD. Vernacular medium students find it easy here as teachers communicate in English as well as Tamil.

PERI has a relatively smaller campus when you compare it to many of the other colleges located in the outskirts. The college is new and has a very good infra. The labs are said to be well equipped. Infra definitely is something which the college has paid attention to.

The first batch has not yet come out.
However as the college is backed by a global IT firm PERI Software Solutions, many of the students might be placed there. On this basis college promises ensured placements.

Around 30 km from Chennai Central, PERI Institute of Technology is located in a village called Mannivakkam on the southern outskirts of the city. It is also quite away from the main road making accessibility to the college very poor. There is no MTC bus on this route but soon there shall be one. Most of the students use college bus only. Some students take the college bus up to only Tambaram and then travel by MTC bus which can take you anywhere within city.

Canteen at PERI is very small. The canteen serves lunch and tiffin items only in the noon during lunch break. Other time of the day you get only packed food items.

Majority of the students come from the nearby areas, most of them from Tambaram. Few students do come from the North-East regions of the country. It can be difficult for students not knowing Tamil to cope up and socialize, which is a case with many other colleges in Chennai too.

The college conducts symposiums but on a very small scale. In the coming years this might improve.

Unlike other colleges formals is NOT compulsory. Here students can dress as they wish as long as they are dressed decently. But round neck t-shirts are a strict no-no. Students aren't fined here for petty issues. Students are allowed to carry mobile phones but are supposed to keep them switched off. “It’s kinda chilled out college” says a happy student.

Although PERI Institute of Technology is a relatively new college, it has great infrastructure and nice faculties. Of course its stand and rank will be decided only once the first batch is out. In the coming years it might be among the better colleges in this area.

An avg college, where only coaching will be given instead of some practical knowledge & extra curriculars
Do not expect internal marks or lab marks if you are an avg student,..
only positive thing airconditioned class rooms & never strictly followed rules xcept for the CAT INTERNAL exam coaching.......
