Rajaram Shinde College of Engineering has a good faculty. All teachers are well trained and each of them delivers lectures well. The students sit for all the lectures. Each faculty provides a set of notes for the students to go through. The faculty is helpful and well natured.

The faculty is probably the worst you will ever find. They have no idea about what they are teaching... they can't even speak the local language properly forget about English.Lol & no one likes attending their lectures... each hour is like a mental abuse. Some of them are helpful but what good is the helpfulness when you have no knowledge at all.

LOL! "Wi-Fi facility is available for students at campus as well as at the hostel."..? lol... WiFi is available in only one hall inside the main building...rest of the campus & hostel has no wi-fi even though they charge students for the same every year.

This is one of the worst places you can find. and air coanditioned library? Those aircons are strictly on fan mode all the time. The place doesn't even have electricity sometimes... forget about aircons...!

Rajaram Shinde College of Engineering is located in Chiplun, Ratnagiri. Nearest station being Chiplun. It takes approximately 20 minutes from Chiplun station to reach the campus.

Well in the whole campus the girls hostel is the best. Whichever new hostel comes up in the campus is given to the girls & whatever old ones are left,are given to the boys :( There is one boys hostel at just the entrance of the college which is the 1st glimpse of the things to come ahead :P that is the worst Hostel in the campus.. with leakages all over the hostel even when it's not raining, raining time you will feel like you staying in slums!! Just pathetic & this hostel is always STINKING 365 days of the year !!
Other boys hostel in the campus are also kind of in similar coanditions as well but might be just little better than the beautiful hostel I described above :D there is one boys hostel behiand the bank cum trustee bungalow, which used to be a girls hostel, that is why it is for now in a better & habitable coandition.
There is MBA hostel outside the campus arouand 2-3kms away. that is the best of all in the list of boys hostel for the obvious reason that it was built for MBA students. But Engineering. students are allowed to take shelter there, if they not wish to feel to stay in Hotel type Hostel & not Slum type Hostel :P :D but there too problems of traveling from 2-3km away with No bus facility provided by the college for the students even though college has a bus which is mostly used as a TRUCK to reach things from MBA to main campus..but it never carries students in it :P the bus is used for KG school students. I feel sometimes they are lucky to get to use the BUS cum Truck properly

Canteen at Rajaram Shinde College of Engineering is not good. The food served here is not liked by the students, though one may get everything in the canteen at a decent prize. In all there are three canteens one exclusively for girls.

This is the main thing for any human being "food". here also its similar as hostel. In the campus girls canteen is the best. Where as boys canteen is "kaam chalau" type. Majority of the college crowd consists people from Mumbai & people living in Mumbai will always struggle to adapt to this canteens & struggle more with the food here. The food & the MENU mostly suits the local people than Engineering. students from Mumbai or other developed cities. college does not try to increase the quality & level of the canteens & food looking at the fact that there is so much crowd of students from really advance Metro cities of the state. It is just concerned with the RENT coming from the people who manage this canteens/mess. On a positive side, People who see them on the heavy side with respect to WEIGHT, have a good time loosing weight & getting literally THIN with the
quality of the food provided sometimes people avoid eating twice a day in the canteen :P But No good news for the people who are already thin, they might feel they will disappear or get evaporated one day :P :D I BET you all the guys in this college have Experienced their waist Shrinking & pants getting loose & almost feeling like falling down :P :D
The college most of the time does not allow students to go out of the campus to eat as the canteens inside the campus of decrease in the no. of students by allowing so, which lead to the canteen people with no profits for themselves & to pay the RENT. This is the most disgusting rule.. I have never heard of in Mumbai ever !!! But when students agitate that the only time for short span of days or month when students get the liberty to go out & eat. but after that its the same old story.

The college has a decent crowd from all backgrounds. People from Mumbai are mostly found in the college. There are even many localities which take admission.

Rajaram Shinde College of Engineering is strict as far as attendance is concerned. Maintaining 75% attendance throughout is mandatory. Under extreme cases students can be detained for a year. As the teaching is good, all students are found attending all the lectures.

attendance are strict according to the mood & time of the faculty. So you never know what you are going to get every semester. But the true fact is that there is seriously lack of motivation to attend lectures with the quality of lectures who cannot speak English & mostly given a chance switch to Marathi or Hiandi at any point of time & continue with it once they start with it for the rest of the lecture with a non-English language. Don't know if they wanna make world class Engineers or they wanna make some local engineers who look like coming from some Marathi medium Municipality school.
It really gets on the nerves to sit & attend such lectures with little source of knowledge in it & most funny part, college every year has college festival + sports which last for a MONTH !!! You will hardly find any college in Mumbai haveing college festival for more than a week or two. Already the Semester consists of only 4 months for teaching in which it's nearly impossible for the faculty to finish the portion & on top if 1 month is wasted in the college festival again, which makes the 2nd half of the year a 3 month college affair, as same as doing some course :P :D
many times students loose their attendance even after attending lectures due to negligence of the lecturers who mostly take attendance on a piece of paper & then loose it, instead of carrying a register. Because of it students loose term works marks later at the eand of semester :( but that does not matter to the lecturer :P :D

If you are a localite of Ratnagiri then Rajaram Shinde College of Engineering is a good college to be in. With a good campus, nice faculty, decent crowd this college sure stands out among the local colleges around that area.
