Faculty of Law has an above average teaching staff with most of them having their PhD and Law degrees. Some are lawyers as well. Most of them are ad-hoc and come as a visiting lecturer. The senior professors are excellent and thoroughly engrossed in their respective topics. The faculty for constitution, jurisdiction and criminal law is very good and students generally attend all their lectures. Being the best law college in Delhi, the faculty is something one can look for.

Top Infrastructure Reviews ALL Infrastructure REVIEWS

In one word, PATHETIC! Despite such a big name and extra famous for its course, the college lacks in infrastructure. The small campus has a few huge trees whose branches almost touch the ground (not literally) below which students are seen chilling and discussing their lives. The campus lacks lush green garden like other colleges in the North Campus and is dusty round the year. The three storey building has wooden bench classrooms with no air conditioner. Fortunately, the library is air conditioned with books available in a good quantity and in latest editions. There is no wifi connectivity in the law college and the overall look of the building is nothing to feel proud about. Some students feel that the building can collapse anytime and the management should seriously take immediate steps in its renovation.

Faculty of Law has an active placement cell. As mentioned earlier, being the best law college in the city, the college has an excellent placement record. Various law firms like Tri-Legal, Fox & Mendel are seen in the campus during the placement months. The average salary is roughly around Rs. 5-6 lakhs per annum.

Located in the North Campus of Delhi University, Faculty of Law is situated right at the start and is probably a few steps away (not literally) from the main gate. The nearest metro station is Vishwavidyalaya (Yes, the name of the station is because of the university and thus one can understand how famous and reputed the campus is) on the Yellow Line and is a minute walk from the main gate of the campus. There are hundreds of cycle rickshaws right at the gate of the university and outside every college. The DTC bus frequency, especially for the North campus, is pretty awesome and drops you to the college gate. Some prefer to come by their private vehicles while a few choose to walk to the college.  In short, accessibility is not a problem and connectivity is superb.
NOTE: There is a bicycle stand right outside the gate of the university which provides bicycles on a rental basis.

Top Canteen Reviews ALL Canteen REVIEWS

“Please don’t call it a canteen. It’s a thella”, quoted by a displeased second year girl. There are two canteens or thellas which serve nothing but Maggie and tea respectively. Law students discuss their case studies with tea and coffee. Lack of variety or infact canteen, is a serious problem for the students in the law college of DU.

At the North campus, you can expect one of the best hangouts in Kamla Nagar Market. There are various coffee chains like CCD and Barista, several fresh fruit juice parlours, chole bhatures roadside and many more. The Ridge is generally jam packed with lovely couples of all the colleges within the campus. JP tea stall at Delhi School of Economics (DSE) is also one of the common hangouts for all the students. Movie lovers are seen in Plaza at Connaught Place (CP).

Crowd at Faculty of Law is not at all appealing, though most of them are from the city of Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon. Some students prefer to gel only with Dehi-ites and avoid the rest as they can be rowdy any time. Having said that, the overall crowd is quite urban and pretty hi-fi as well.

Just like any other college in Delhi University, Faculty of Law is pretty strict when it comes to attendance. Students have to maintain the strange 66% norm religiously failing which they don’t get their admit card. Though genuine cases are exempted, students have to keep up this mark compulsorily.

Excluding the extremely poor infrastructure and canteen, Faculty of Law has all the great factors to be one of the best law colleges in the country. Definitely the best in Delhi University, Law College is a good bet for any aspiring lawyer though one needs an excellent score in the law entrance exam of DU.
