The professors at Sharda University are just about okay. There is a healthy strength of junior professors who have  communication problems, especially when it comes to English. "Many professors aren't up to the mark, and those that are, aren't giving cent percent in teaching", says a student. Some departments have senior experienced teachers.

Although the completely Wi-Fi campus is really good to look at, with clean, well maintained classrooms and a nice building, it does have its shortcomings. For example, the library can seat only 50 students, and there is always a scarcity of books, journals and research papers. Laboratories are quite decent, though. The overall infrastructure is quite brilliant but don't get misled, thinking the colleges it hosts are brilliant as well.

During the placement season, Sharda University campus is occupied with a couple of unheard and unseen local companies. There are few opportunities for students to get into good MNCs which do not pick in huge numbers. The placement cell is not in place and overall job prospects are below average.

Located in Knowledge Park III of Greater Noida, Sharda University is one of the popular universities in this region. If you're travelling by the Metro, then Noida Sector 18 (one of the furthest stops on the eastern side of Blue Line) is the nearest station. From here, you'll have to take a smooth 40 to 45 minute ride by the bus that plies along the expressway and drops you off at Pari Chowk, from where once more you'll have to take a share-rickshaw to the college. Phew!

There are 7-8 canteens - well, not exactly canteens, more like franchsied food outlets. There's no problem in terms of variety or quality, but eating here can get a little expensive. Sagar-Ratna, Bikano, CCD, Department of Flavours and Red Chilli are all present here.

The crowd at Sharda, even though multiculture, is not very promising! "The place is unsafe for girls; not only the surroundings but the college itself! Boys are arrogant at times; they come in flashy cars with blasting music, and this careless attitude rubs off on everything they do", quotes a girl student from Nepal to the Stupidsid Reporter. About 30% students are from Delhi, 40% from UP, and many from Bihar as well. You'll also come across faces from foreign land like Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Nepal, etc.

The college is extremely strict about attendance. If your attendance is above 75%, you should be safe. Anything below that, and the fines start driving you crazy. Fines start at a hefty price and can be doubled depending upon the shortage of attendance. "You might also have to beg for some mercy, but that certainly doesn't mean they'll let go of the fine. If that isn't paid, you get detained", quotes a second year student.

Placement Situation, Teaching Staff and the Far-Off Location is what Sharda University needs to look into. It is a good bet for those who have oodles of money and just looking for a degree.
NOTE: Sharda University is a Private University.
