Campus of Tagore Engineering College is small given that the college is located on outskirts. Most colleges on the outskirts of Chennai city have huge campuses. This results in less open space for play ground & parking. There are two buildings in college: one for mechanical department & the other for all the other departments. Academic facilities like labs & library matches the expectation of students but they find classrooms less spacious.

Students claim that placements are very poor and they need more companies to visit the college. Hardly 5-10% students manage to secure jobs during on-campus recruitments.

Tagore Engineering College is located on Vandalur - Kelambakkam Road, about 36 km from central areas of Chennai. Students are mandated to travel by college bus which charges up to Rs 12,000 per year. Surrounding area is less populated compared to proper city & you would hardly encounter any traffic till you reach GST or OMR.

There is hostel facility provided by the college. Boys hostel is inside the campus while girls hostel is nearby the campus. Hostels are not good & complaints are paid no heed. New hostels are under construction.

Canteen is horrible. The food is neither tasty nor hygienic. Contractors change after incessant complaints but they too are equally bad at managing the canteen.

75% attendance is needed according to Anna University norms. College is very strict in its implementation and doesn't allow more than 5% of lapse. Below 70% you stand at a chance of getting debarred. Students are not allowed to leave the college before 3.30 pm. However there aren't much restrictions on bunking lectures & roaming around in campus. College is not too strict when it comes to dress code & other disciplinary issues.
