Faculty at GB Pant Engineering College is quite awesome though the college isn’t very old. Most of the professors are new and have got industrial experience only yet they teach very well. Students find the old professors non co-operative and nagging most of the times. The teaching staff of Mechanical and Electrical department is very good and are well versed with their respective topics. As it’s a government college, majority of the professors from IIT which visit the college as guests lecturers. Superb, ain’t it? The department of Computer Science has average teachers and need enough experience. In spite of being a new college, the teaching staff is something one should look for.

GB Pant has a very average or below average infrastructure. The two storey (yes, only two storey engineering college) building has a pretty small campus with no greenery unlike other Delhi colleges. The old looking building has an air conditioned library with almost all the books available though not in abundance. The classrooms are nothing to boast but the campus is wifi enabled.

Even though this government college is pretty new in the city, surprisingly it has got excellent placements. Big names and MNC’s like Mahindra & Mahindra, Siemens, Infosys, Cognilytics, Indian Air Force, HCL and Maruti Suzuki visit the college campus during the placement season. Mechanical department has a very good placement record while Computers and Electronics is average, though not bad. There are multiple job opportunities in the college and thus one can select his/her domain after graduation. The average pay package is around Rs. 3-4 lakhs per annum. Sadly, the highest is generally around Rs. 6 lakhs per annum which ain’t that great.

Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College, generally referred as G.B.Pant, is located in a rural area of Okhla. In spite of being located in a so called village locality, the college has excellent connectivity. The nearest metro station is Govindpuri and is 5 minutes walking from the college.  The DTC buses have an excellent frequency and drops you near the metro station. Mostly students travel by metros and DTC buses while a few studs prefer to commute by two wheelers.

Along with the infrastructure, the college canteen too, SUCKS! There is no special variety in the canteen and space too is a problem. All in all, the canteen is not something one would cherish during the four years of engineering.

There are hundreds of malls in the Saket City area which thus becomes a hot favourite hangout for the students. Nehru Place, though far from the college, is popular with GB Pant students. Apart from these two, there are no such areas to hangout near the college.

GB Pant has a majority of the crowd from the city of Delhi. Students from regions like Noida and Gurgaon are seen in the college but not in a healthy ratio. As usual, boys have a majority in the college. The college has an urban crowd, most girls look good, and the boys are decent as well.

There is a cultural festival held in the GB Pant college every year during August. There is no specific name of the festival as it changes every year.

Doesn’t matter! No kidding. Students have to maintain roughly around 40%, or even lower to get their admit cards and no extra assignments or fine. One of the most chilled out colleges in terms of attendance and thus students undoubtedly take maximum advantage of the same.

If you wish to study and want a decent crowd for the next four years, the college is perfect blend of the two. Though new, GB Pant Engineering College has a good future and can climb up to the good league of engineering colleges. The management should look into the infrastructure badly.
