The faculty are very experience and knowledgeable, so learning from them is a pleasure. Industry experts are invited to take lectures on various topics. The management of the college is very aggressive about faculties that do not perform, or can’t teach well, and are changed. The students handle a lot of things of the college, and with that encourage new and prompt ideas. Moreover, the director of the college was the ex-director of NMIMS, and he is pretty much popular among the students. Other faculty members also have been teachers at some of the prestigious Management institutes around. The faculties that live on-campus are freely approachable even after college hours, in case of academic doubts. The faculty gives students all the freedom to plan their sessions, and it works on a continuous feedback system. The faculty and the management always want to get better. But one thing very clear with the students & the faculty is that Discipline is very important.

The college infrastructure is relatively new, so nothing much to be disappointed about. But as the students say there is certainly a lot of scope for further development, and improvement. There is an open space, of around 5-acres, which can be utilized better. And still things are being developed in and around the campus. Although the facilities provided inside the classroom are pretty good. There is wifi connectivity in the campus, but at certain places you could get disconnected. So basically find the sweet spots where you get wifi to access the internet. Talking of the library, a lot of volumes are available for students to use, there is quantity, and there is quality, to ensure that learning is not hindered. Also the college has a provision for an online library system and has subscriptions to various business/finance journals, and there is ample amount of place to sit in the library, although AC’s in the library would certainly be nice. But all the lecture halls are air conditioned nevertheless.VESIM has a well-equipped computer lab with latest software, hardware and 24hr Broadband and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is a research center dedicated to academic and industry research. Separate infrastructure is available for research within the campus.

When it comes to placements, the students very confidently boast about the 100% placements the college achieves, year-on-year. Companies which are into varied businesses come to recruit students. The list includes, Naukri.com, L&T Infotech in the IT Sector, Future Group: hires students for their operations wing, United Breweries, banks like Kotak Mahindra, RBI, also visit the campus. So it’s a very healthy scene here with regards to placements. The most important part now: the packages, well, the average salary is around 4-5Lakh Rupees per annum, and the highest a student offered here was Rs.9 Lakh a year.

Nearest station from Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute Of Management Studies And Research (VESIMSR) fondly known as “swami”, is Kurla (C. Rly. & Harbour Rly.) about 2-3 km from college. So, assuming you get a rick immediately, you should reach the college within 10 minutes. The new campus is located in Collectors Colony, Chembur.

There is hostel provision for both boys, and girls, and staff quarters for those who wish to stay on-campus. The charges of the hostel are Rs.40,000 per year inclusive of mess and laundry charges. Hostels are good, and the students say, hostel-ites are the one who have more fun.

The crowd as the students would say is a bad part of the college. There are about 3-5% students who have some kind of work experience, the rest around 95% are fresher, and mostly engineers. But one notable thing is that there is significant unity between the students of MMS-PGDM, as compared to other colleges, and here both the courses are equal in terms of education.
Campus, well the college has their doors open for the students till 9 PM, and as said earlier, the teachers living on-campus are approachable any time. The campus life gets stressful most of the time, but students find it an enjoyable experience, as it all goes into good learning. Work the teachers assign is very do-able, just that it has to be done; you must not escape the efforts.

Just like a school, attendance here is strict. Roll calls during lectures ensure that your friends are helpless in getting you marked present. 75% is a bare minimum. If at all, you’ve been genuinely busy in events/participation, only then you are considered, with valid proof of course. Oh, and in case your attendance falls short, your parents are informed, and you are made to give in writing that you’ll make up for the attendance in the next semester.
