MAT - Management Aptitude Test

General Description:

Searching for a single exam whose marks are accepted anywhere in India, them MAT it is! MBA institutes offering recognized MBA programs and allied fields can participate in MAT. MAT is one of the most popular competitive exams among MBA aspirants as it gets them access to a large number of good B schools in India. Also, the other reason that attributes to the immense popularity of this exam is that the candidates can choose to take either Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test as per their convenience.

Accepting Institutes:

All India Management Association - Centre for Management Education (AIMA-CME) and other AICTE-approved Management Institutes (MI) and university departments.

MAT Eligibility

• The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent.
• No restriction regarding percentages for taking the MAT test, no age bar and no experience required.

Dates:

The paper based test is generally on the first Sunday of December.
And the computer based test starts a week after the paper based test

Format and Peculiarities:

MAT entrance exam covers five sections in all. Scores of first four sections compose the final scores. However, institutions might choose to consider the score of the General Awareness section.

MAT is the test conducted by All India Management Testing Service for entering into MBA or equivalent post graduate programs. The five sections mentioned above are basically comprised of the following five papers:

Paper 1 : Language Comprehension
Paper 2 : Mathematical Skills
Paper 3 : Data Analysis
Paper 4 : Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
Paper 5 : Indian & Global Environment Section

Tips:

Don't forget that only learning chapters will not take you anywhere, it is questions that you need to answer in the final exam. So practice, practice and practice till you are perfect at the chapter and then move ahead
If you have enough time for the exam, pick a chapter you are weak in and one that is important from the exam standpoint.
Or if you do not have enough time, pick a chapter that you are comfortable, have not practiced enough and that is an important chapter.
Any day give priority to important chapters if you have not revised them or not practiced enough questions on them.
If exams are just approaching, leave out any new chapters because it will create a lot of stress and anyway you cannot master it enough for the exam.
