Preparation:

I started studying about 3 months before the CAT. I had study material from TIME and I did it very thoroughly. Apart from that I spent most of my time taking online tests and Mock CATs. That's what really helped. I was working then, so I didn't get too much time, but I used to stay up late and study for two hours every night.

Material:

Like I mentioned, the material from TIME was more than enough. Classes are unnecessary as long as your concepts are very clear. Being an engineer might haven given me a slight advantage in that respect. But more than anything, it's the mock tests that really make all the difference.

Advice to juniors:

Coaching classes are not at all needed. The CAT changes every year, so what's most important is to be well-versed with the format and the question-types. That's why taking Mock CATs is so crucial. Change your study plan according to what is demanded by the CAT. Just believe in yourself and you'll be fine. For the interview, be yourself - don't try being someone you are not, it would just put the interviewer off. Being yourself is the best thing to do.

Why I chose MDI:

MDI is very well known for its faculty and its unique teaching pedagogy. The faculty, especially, is excellent and all the professors are highly respected in their areas. Also, MDI is known for its research work, which was something I was very keen on. And of course, it's fun to learn at MDI.

Experience in MBA Institute:

The campus is nice and very beautiful, with clean hostels where the rooms are on a twin-sharing basis. Great crowd (intellectually as well as for partying), the average age is about 24-25. Campus life is hectic but you get to love it over time...most of us even miss it when at home on holiday.
