TISS - Tata Institute of Social Sciences Entrance Test - MBA Entrance Exams | Management (MBA,MMS,PGDM)
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Entrance Test
General Description:
The prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences is known for its Human Resources program. Very often you find students with an ‘altruistic’ streak vying for admission to TISS, although there are a number of students who want to join simply for the fantastic packages on offer (and there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you’re one of them).
Accepting Institutes:
Tata Institute Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai
Dates:
It is normally conducted on a Sunday in December. More often than not, it clashes with JMET, the entrance exam for IITs schools of managements (perhaps because they don't want a plethora of engineers at TISS).
Format and Peculiarities:
The TISS entrance test is a two-part exam. The first part is common to all candidates, and the second is more course-specific. Part I is objective, and consists of multiple choice questions. Part II consists of short answers related to the course opted for. Normally, 25% weightage is given to Part I and 75% to Part II.
The format for Part II changes every year depending on the selected course, but the format for Part I is pretty standard:

Tips:
TISS lays a lot of emphasis on General Awareness, instead of simply intellectual ability. The institute tries its best to admit students who they think will make a difference to society. So, to give you a tip, brush up your knowledge on current affairs. But, to make a request, look for another institute if your only aim is a big payday.
