The faculty at Apeejay School of architecture can be rated as average at best, with almost equal numbers of senior and junior professors teaching here. The faculties taking climatology, landscape and conservation are among the good teachers, while the rest are just about okay. Teachers appointed for ID (interior design) branch are not as good as those for core. Students complain that they’re not cooperative all the times and can create a trouble for you if they’re in a bad mood.

Appejay has a nice campus, although not too big, it definitely looks good with lush green lawns on each side of a walkway leading to the college building. The buildings are also built in a unique style such that it adds to the aesthetic value of the campus. However, students complain of space crunch in the classrooms and labs due to increase in intake. The studios that are needed for practical sessions are well furnished and naturally lit. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled but its usage is restricted by some password and you can get it only if you have valid reasons like project submissions.

There’s compulsory internship in the 7th sem. Although college doesn’t get companies, you generally get internships with reputed architects on your own. Those who don’t get internship shouldn’t worry as you can do an internship with your teachers or visiting faculties in their private practice.
There are no placements provided by the college but you generally end up working at your internship that is if you wish to work. Most of the students take up a job and get experience for about a year or two and then they go for the higher studies. Average starting salary the students get is 20,000 a month.

Apeejay Institute of Technology – School of Architecture & Planning is located in Knowledge Park 1 of Greater Noida and it is quite inaccessible for those travelling from Delhi. The nearest metro station would be Noida sector 18 on the blue line, which is about 40 minutes’ bus ride from the college. Those travelling from Noida and Ghaziabad opt for private buses, which drop you at Pari Chowk which is a 10 minutes’ walk from the college. However most people prefer to stay as a PG in areas nearby the college, which is a wise thing to do, considering it may take as much as 2 hours of travelling one way.

The college provides hostel in the campus and it is compulsory for the 1st years to stay there. 2nd year onwards you can choose to stay outside the campus as a PG, which is the general trend among students. The hostel rooms are decently sized and are also cleaned regularly. You can have a room all to yourself or you can share it among 2 or 3 partners and you’ll be charged accordingly. Hostel charges are Rs 75,000 for most premium single occupancy room. The food in mess is good at the beginning of the year but the quality deteriorates as the year progresses. Overall the students rate the infrastructure as 7 on 10.

Canteen is bad. They serve only fast food and snacks in what little space that they have. On top of it the food tastes bad too and the space is totally unhygienic. The only good point about canteen is that it’s very economical. The students rate the canteen as 4/10.

Majority of the crowd belongs to UP but there are also a few people from Delhi. They are very friendly and gets along pretty well. Girls to boys ratio is also not bad which is about 40 – 60. The area in the vicinity of the college is not safe and there have been cases of mobile and laptop snatching.

Fresher’s party, farewell, alumni meet and other small events are organized in the college but there’s no BIG inter-college annual festival. However students do participate in the festivals of nearby colleges like Ishaan and Sharda like their own festival and enjoy being a part of them.

Although not the best college in world, Apeejay School of architecture and planning is not a bad college either. Especially those who couldn’t make it to best colleges in Delhi should look out for this college.
