About half of all the professors here are doctors, and many are also pursuing their doctorates. So all are well qualified and can teach well. But all they demand is that the students need to be sincere during the lecture or practical sessions. You can then enjoy the rest of the time. If you stay absent even for a day, the college will call home, and check for the reason for the absence. However the faculties are very helpful when it comes to academic issues, and are willing to solve problems that students face.

The campus is relatively smaller as compared to other colleges in the outskirts of the city, who have huge expanse of land at their disposal. So no fancy campus, but is enough to house all the different blocks, and still manage to have ample of free space. The classrooms are big and very well ventilated. The seats are comfortable with a nice back rest too, pretty unusual and cool. The labs are all set with all the required equipments, and the chemicals and things that a lab demands for. The library is also loaded with all the books the students would need during the course. Here, the library cards use to issue books is almost redundant, as the college provides a kit every year for all the books that they would need in that particular year. So now if you still need more books, you always have 3 library cards to use, must say that it’s a pretty good system in place. The college does not provide hostel accommodation on campus. The campus is wifi enabled, and there are separate internet labs too, which allow the students unrestricted access to the internet.

No company comes to the campus, like on-campus placements with courses like MBA or Engineering. The placements for pharmacy students happen together at GTU campus. But unfortunately, not all get placed. A few get placed at Torrent Pharma, which is reputed in this part of the country. Some might even take up Pharma-Marketing jobs, if they choose to. Majority students opt for higher studies. As taking up a job at graduation could fetch them a job that pays at max 2.5 Lakh a year. So students consider higher studies as a fair option after graduation.

There is very little to offer in this modest but clean canteen. The best item on the menu would be samosa and vada paav. You can’t expect to get meals here, and most of the students carry lunch from home. The food seems to be pretty hygienic too. Packed food products like wafers, and biscuits are always available. A gujarati dhaba right across the highway outside the college serves pretty tasty food for very cheap and its a must try.

Being in an area absolutely cutoff from societies or civilization, just off the highway, there is nothing much you can possibly expect around here. And a more important factor is that the schedules are such that after attending all the lectures of the day, tis only advisable to leave for home, as many stay far from the college. So basically people go home after college, and that’s about it.

Most of the crowd here are localites, coming from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Just about 10% students would be from outside the city, which is why they stay in hostels or as Paying Guests (PG). The ratio of boys to girls is ideal, with 50:50 being observed in all batches. The interaction between students is good, and there are activities that keep them busy. Overall the crowd is friendly, and safe for girls. The area later in the evening can get desolated though.

Cultural events are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. During the Navratri, a garba night is organized at the college. There’s an entire week of sports events. The annual day is celebrated, which sees good participation. No one sits at home during these days. But as a practice, attendance is taken even during these events, so as to ensure public participation. Festivals are not the grandest of festivals around, but the good part is participation, and the enthusiasm to be a part of it, and make it better.

As a university rule, you need to have at least 75% attendance in a semester to be eligible to take the exams. But here at Arihant School of Pharmacy, they insist a minimum of 80%, failing which can mean you don’t get to appear for the semester exams. In many cases with students having up to 75% attendance are also allowed, but anything below that, means no exam form. There have been cases where people do get detained, so you should be careful about this. Once you enter the college premise you have to attend your respective lectures. No one is allowed to roam around, or chill in the lawns. You need to take an official leave if you want to leave the campus before the college ends.

A typical college, with sincere faculties that strive to ensure teaching is good. Students are also of the same opinion that If you really want to gain knowledge, may be this could be better than many other city colleges.
