The faculty members are not very well qualified except for one or two in each department. There are many junior teachers who are devoid of experience.

It’s an unpaved road from entrance to the college building. The college has big huge grounds. There are MANY colleges around in the 5km vicinity & overall DMICE looks like just another college on NH4. The college building and interiors are not appealing. The labs are not up to the mark, with much equipment not working most of the time.

DMI College is located on the outskirts of Chennai, on NH4 near Nazarethpet post. The college is approximately 30 km from the center of Chennai. The college is around just 15 minutes’ drive from Poonamallee, a western suburb of Chennai. There aren’t many MTC buses going all the way to college but there are many buses from Poonamallee to the rest of the city. Most of the students take a bus to Poonamallee and then another bus. The college does provide bus service but most of the students don’t prefer using them.

Students aren’t happy with the hostels too. Each of the room in the hostel, which is quite small, is shared by 4 students.

Canteen would be rated below average and the food is just about edible. However when compared to mess food, it’ll seem like a culinary delight. You aren’t provided with a good number of choices in canteen.

The crowd here is not really fun, not that the crowd in other colleges in Chennai are. Most of the students coming to DMI are from Chennai or at most from various parts of Tamil Nadu. Very rarely will you find a student from any of the other cultural or state diversity.

There are technical symposiums happening at DMI College of Engineering but they aren’t lucrative enough to attract much participation from other colleges. There is no cultural festival happening here. However, there are Christmas celebrations happening, if that in anyway provides compensation for not having cultural festival.

DMI College of Engineering is not very strict regarding attendance as long as the students manage to keep it 75% & above. This limit too can be manipulated if you have a medical certificate.
Formals are compulsory, and when they say formals it means proper formals where even a shirt with 2 pockets isn’t allowed.
