There is a shortage of experienced and knowledgeable faculties in Garden City College. Majority of teachers are freshers with very less experience of teaching and it seems that the senior members are not interested in teaching. Biotech department is the best one among BSc while Computer science is said to be the worst. MBA is not particularly bad either. BCom & BBM are somewhere in the range of average to below average. They are also said to be partial towards Mallus.

Every thing is good in this college, except the quality of teaching, which is very poor and it is because of even very poor quality of teachers..

There are 2 campuses of this college which are on opposite sides of the old Madras road. Both are nice and equipped with good infrastructure but one is kind of smallish and some space crunch is felt due to many courses that are conducted in it. The classrooms, labs, auditorium and library all are spacious and has got required facilities. Their library is really good and contains all the academic books one can imagine. There is also a separate reading room in case the library gets crowded. The campuses are Wi-fi enabled and anyone can freely access it any time. Overall students are pretty much satisfied with the infrastructure at hand. But the lack of sports facility is felt.

Placements are offered to BCom, BBM, BSc (Computer Science) and BCA departments. They are pretty average, nothing out of the world. Many BPO companies come for recruitment offering around Rs.20,000 a month. But only a few students take them up, most of the students hunt for the jobs of their choice on their own.

FASHION DESIGN:
Those who are looking for a carrier in fashion design should not opt THIS college EVER. Faculties in the department doesn't even know how to communicate with the students. 75% of the equipment doesn't work. The companies which hire the professionals who are seeking for a job will not prefer candithates from this college. It is just a waste of time, effort & money. There is no industry oriented training.
They will not use more than 5% of the potential of the students, so after the completion of the course the students will not learn much about fashion and the industry. It can be considered as the worst college for fashion.

Garden City College (GCC), located in the north-eastern parts of Bangalore is quite far from the centre of the city. But reaching here is quite feasible as there’s good connectivity by BMTC buses from Majestic. Also the metro trains currently available till Byppanahalli will soon be reaching to college. So accessibility isn’t a problem.

Garden City College also provides hostels facilities. There are 3 different hostels which are located in different areas near the college. They are well-maintained and students don’t have any complains about it except the food which is monotonous according to them.

There are 4 different canteens. They’re spacious and serve good food. Also a lot of variety is available and the prices also aren’t exorbitant.

Generally students are found hanging around in the canteen only. Apart from that there are some small shops and restaurants near the college if they’re looking for variety. Other than that there’s nothing much of a typical hangout spot and one has to travel all the way to city to find some happening place.

Plenty of students from Kerala come here to study as the management is Malayali. Also a lot of Bengalis are there. Overall the crowd is very friendly and they like to socialize. Being a non-engineering college one can expect a lot of girls to be there, which isn’t the case here.

“Gardenia” is the annual cultural program held sometime in December. There is a lot of participation and excitement seen from all departments during the fest. College also encourages participation in sports and cultural events.

This college is heaven for bunking lectures. They’re least bothered about attendance issues and don’t give any trouble for the lack of it. As low as 0% would also do. Also there are no other harsh disciplinary rules too and there’s lot freedom to each and every student of the college.

Garden City College is not the best college for any particular course however it’s not a bad choice either. Especially those staying close by who don’t want to travel all the way to some of the better colleges in the central areas should definitely consider this college.
