For textile and silk technology courses the faculty is amazing, not that you have much choice if you wish to do one of these courses, but the teachers are such that you can happily study here. Students claim that the other recently introduced courses like Computers, ECE and Civil have an acute shortage of permanent faculty and it is fulfilled by bringing in visiting faculty. Although the teaching is fair enough, there’s a discontinuity in the course of study because of the haphazard timetables, sometimes lectures being scheduled even on a Sunday!

Govt. SKSJTI feels like a part of the bigger SJ Polytechnic college campus which is pretty huge. The appearance of the college from the outside is ancient but the insides are pretty modern and up-to-date. Classrooms and labs are sufficiently well maintained, and as for the library, some students feel that it’s a falls short of space and books need to be more.

Govt. SKSJTI gets wonderful placements for textile and silk departments with records of above 70% recruitments. Salaries offered aren’t comparable to those offered to students from other streams but they’re good for a start (about Rs. 8,000/- per month). The other streams hardly get any companies on campus and have to mostly struggle it out at the pool campus placement, wherein you have to appear for interviews at another more reputed college where the companies have come.

Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute, abbreviated and more popularly known as Government SKSJT Institute, is located at KR Circle right in the heart of Bangalore. Its fabulous location is unmatched and incomparable to any other Engineering College in Bangalore except for UVCE which is right across the road. The number of BMTC buses plying close to the college would perhaps be second to only Majestic (KG Bus Stand). Absolutely no problems reaching the college, whatever part of the city you may reside.

As there’s no COMEDK intake, students from North-Indian states are as rarely seen as tigers in a Tiger Safari. Subsidised fees and a central location in Bangalore are two BIG reasons to attract students from remote parts of Karnataka.

“Sangam” is an intracollege cultural cum sports event celebrated at Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute (Govt. SKSJTI) sometime in end of March. Another festival which is supposedly larger than Sangam is organised by the Computer Science department in October. It's called "Impulse" and is an intercollege technical festival.

Now this is what the students feel is the best about Govt. Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute (SKSJTI); absolutely no worries. Above 60% is generally recommended by the college but it’s quite liberal and non-compliance with the attendance rules wouldn’t really land you up in too much trouble.
