The teaching staff at Hans Raj is pretty average. Some are way qualified and have enough experience while a few of them are freshers. Students find the tax lectures extremely nice and interactive. The teachers are generally friendly, though some have a towering attitude problem. Overall, the faculty is nothing to boast about and students are pretty much okay with them.

Hans Raj College campus isn’t large but has a beautiful green garden which is maintained up-to-date. There is enough parking space for two wheelers. The college building looks neat and clean and so are the classrooms. Wooden benches are comfortable and fans run all round the year. Labs and library are air-conditioned and have apparatuses and books available sufficiently. Sadly, the campus isn’t wifi enabled.

Hansraj is now fully wi-fi enabled,
And the wi-fi speed is at its best... around 2-5 Mbps from even a mobile phone..... and also for free

Hans Raj is definitely one of the best colleges in the North Campus, one of the reasons behind it being it’s awesome placements. Big MNC’s like Ernst & Young (E&Y), Deloitte, KPMG and many more visit the college campus and recruit students from the commerce and economic department. The average pay package is roughly around 3-4 lakhs per annum and almost 80% of the students get placed.

Located in the North Campus of Delhi University (DU), Hans Raj College is situated right at the end of the campus and is pretty far from the main gate of the university. The nearest metro station is Vishwavidyala (Yes, the name of the station is because of the university and thus one can understand how famous and reputed the campus is) on the Yellow Line and is a minute walk from the main gate of the campus. There are hundreds of cycle rickshaws right at the gate of the university and outside every college within the North campus which charge you Rs. 10. The DTC bus frequency, especially for the North campus, is pretty awesome and drops you to the college gate at a mere cost of Rs. 10. Some prefer to come by their private vehicles as there is enormous parking space. In short, accessibility is not a problem and connectivity is superb.
NOTE: There is a bicycle stand right outside the gate of the university which provides bicycles on a rental basis. The cost is Rs. 10 for four hours. Can’t expect anything cheaper than this!

The college provides hostel facility for boys only where the rental charges around Rs. 50,000 per year. Students have to share the rooms and the facilities are pretty decent.

The Hans Raj canteen is definitely very good compared to the other colleges in the North Campus. The food served is excellent, tasty and easily affordable. Samosa, Dosa, Spring rolls, and Chowmein are the favourite items ordered in the canteen. There is a Nescafe in the college as well. Though the canteen isn’t very spacious, the lush green garden covers up for the same.

There is a lovers point near the college canteen where you see groups of students chilling and doing loads of time pass. Even though, it’s named lovers point, there are more groups and fewer couples. Strange, but true! Apart from that, at the North campus, you can expect one of the best hangouts at Kamla Nagar Market. There are various coffee chains like CCD and Barista, several fresh fruit juice parlours, chole bhatures roadside and many more. The Ridge is generally jam packed with lovely couples of all the colleges within the campus. J.P tea stall at Delhi School of Economics (DSE) is also one of the common hangouts for all the students.

Even though the college comes under Delhi University (DU), students are seen from all parts of India in a healthy number. Most of them are from East India. A good amount of foreign students are also seen here. There is an almost equal numbers of boys and girls in the campus which keeps the overall crowd quite lively. Students are from decent background and some belong to high profile families as well. Girls are pretty and cute while there a few handsome studs too. Overall, the crowd is pretty chilled out and they know to enjoy life.

'Confluence', the annual festival of Hans Raj College, is celebrated in the first month of the calendar year, January. 'Vanijya Utsav' as the name suggests, is the commerce department festival and there are hundreds of other department festivals as well.

At Hans Raj, 66% is compulsory failing which letters are sent to your dear parents. Students falling short of attendance are not allowed to give the final year exams and get a year back. The only advantage is that 66% is a cumulative of three years, thus you can make up for your low attendance anytime during the second and third year of graduation.
