Faculties at ILNU are wonderful. All are well-qualified and experienced; there is hardly anyone having less than 8 years of experience. But they are strict when it comes to making students study and complete their tasks. They are also very helpful and approachable. There are many visiting faculties and guest lectures by eminent speakers like Arnab Goswami & Dushyant Dave. There is at least one guest lecture per week. And there is a moot court session per week too.

The sprawling campus of Nirma University is spread over a massive 110 acres. It is lush, expansive, pollution free and beautiful. The grey coloured buildings planned in unique architectural style, give the campus that typical feel of an educational premises. All the classrooms are air-conditioned and they are equipped with LCD projectors, CCTV cameras & comfortable benches. Their libraries are superb; there are many volumes of books, legal case papers, judgements and access to online journals. Also locating and issuing books is very convenient thanks to the digital library management system. There are separate libraries for each department and books can be issued using your RFID based id-cards which find use at other places too. They have also provided each student with an official email id, which is used for official communications and sharing notes etc. The moot court is inspired from Gujarat High Court.
There are facilities for various indoor and outdoor sports but law students don’t make much use of it as you need to go through procedures to obtain permission to use them.

Average salary offered is 6 to 8 lakh per annum while the highest record is of 34 LPA. About 80% of students take up a corporate job as the course is designed for that while the remaining 20% go for practice after clearing bar council exam ‘Sanath’.
There is a one month internship for which students have to find companies by themselves.

It is near northern city limits of Ahmedabad and commuting via AMTS is convenient as buses from major parts of the city ply till here. However very few students are seen using this service, instead they commute by college buses or sharing autos or private vehicles. There are many college buses going to all over Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, charges for which are Rs 5600 per semester.

Students here are highly focussed and they are ready with a vision for life backed by their conscience. “We aren’t like Tech guys (short for students of Institute of Technology) who just follow the herd. We know what we are doing and why are we doing it”, quotes a young lawyer in the making. The crowd is very diverse here and you can find students from all parts of country and still it is easy to gel with everyone. There are various committees for different activates and each student participates in one or more of them depending on their areas of interests. Boy – girl ratio is approx. 1:1.

85% attendance is a must. Only if you have any genuine medical reasons, you’ll be allowed till 75% with a penalty of writing extra assignments. But in any case if attendance drops below 75%, you’ll be detained. There is a disciplinary committee in place which will make sure that people attend classes and finish their assigned work. In a nutshell, Nirma is a very strict college and students are expected to stay focussed on their course. Of course that doesn’t prevent students to participate in co-curricular events like moot courts and debates. College is considerate enough to give slight relaxation in attendance for participation in these events.
There is a uniform that needs to be worn twice a week.
