While half the professors are exceptionally good, the remaining half are thought to be horrible. Some are said to be irregular at taking classes too. "It's best not to rely on them and follow regular self-studies" reveals a disappointed student. Mechanical department is an exception and students really praise their teachers.

When you enter the campus, it may not appear too big; however, once you start exploring you'll realize its enormousness and feel that it's probably 100 acres as claimed. And why not? After all, it's home to JBREC, JBR Pharmacy College, Bhaskar Medical College, Bhaskar Engineering College and a few more institutes apart from JB Institute of Engineering & Technology. But just having a huge campus isn't enough; it needs to be run efficiently and that's where JBIET takes a beating. The spacious library can accommodate a large number of students but there's hardly anyone visiting it as there's an acute shortage of updated books. Restrooms are unhygienic, electricity problems are common and nothing seems to have been changed since it was established in 1998. Fortunately, though, labs and classrooms are well-kept.

This is where JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) shoots ahead of other engineering colleges in Moinabad. The college has consistently placed over 40% students every year into companies like Infosys, HCL, Wipro, Satyam and Syntel with the highest number of recruitments from CSE and IT departments. A handful of companies offering core job profiles also pay an occasional visit to the college but recruitments are not significant.

JB Institute of Engineering & Technology, more popularly known as JBIET, is located on the main road in Yenkapally, Moinabad, a distant suburb in Western Hyderabad, not far from the famous Chilkur Balaji Temple. Few RTC buses in the 288-series pass by the college campus but they're over-crowded during peak hours. Lack of another alternative has forced more than half the students to commute by College Buses, in spite of the cost (Rs. 15,000 per year) which is 5 or 6 times RTC buses.

Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls for a little more than Rs. 40,000/year. However, the condition is pathetic - cramped up rooms, sporadic water supply, no Internet and tasteless food.

Oh there's Central Canteen, Bhaskar Medical College canteen, Bhaskar Engineering College canteen as well as something we call 'Aunty Canteen' which is near the girls hostel exclaims an excited bunch of girls. Of all the canteens, the favourite happens to be Bhaskar Medical College canteen as it serves excellent food (including non-vegetarian) at low costs. The Central Canteen is a close competitor but loses out on limited varieties and only vegetarian food.

JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) college authorities must have thought about this before permitting an open gate system. There's nothing interesting in the vicinity to hang around with friends. "Either we sit in the college premises or head straight home" sighs a third year student.

As JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) is thought to be one of the finest engineering colleges in Moinabad region, it attracts a pretty decent crowd. It's a perfect blend of urban and semi-urban guys and girls with different interests and opinions. So you're bound to find 'your-kind-of-people'.

'INXS' is the most awaited event of the year and witnesses participation from the entire group of JB institutions. The mega event happens in March and the days are lined up with a variety of cultural programs. Apart from that, JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) students organize 'INFO-QUEST' a technical festival where even other colleges in the surrounding region are invited.

If you've got deep pockets, you probably shouldn't worry about attendance - just be ready to shell out fines proportional to your shortage in attendance. Anything between Rs. 500 to Rs. 15,000 may be charged depending on whether you have 70% attendance or 40%. It's best to stay over 40% if you're not looking for some serious trouble and over 75% if the college fees is pinching you already.
Unlike most engineering colleges in Hyderabad, JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) has an open gate system wherein students can enter or leave the campus as they wish. Plus, there aren't too many restrictions on dress codes and freedom to roam around in the campus. College timing is 9:10 am to 3:30 pm

Decent placement opportunities coupled with its autonomous state propel JB Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) to the topmost position amongst engineering colleges in Moinabad, despite the poor quality of education being imparted.
