The faculties are all well educated and qualified, the difference mainly lies in the experience that every teacher has under his hood. About 1/3rd faculties are junior and relatively fresher, while the rest are senior and experienced. The juniors are rather friendly and more approachable, and also the seniors are equally approachable. Teacher give notes during the lectures which most students refer during the exams. None of the faculty members is the type who would harass or hold personal grudges against students. The most popular faculty is the ‘Cuetics, and also Pharmacology is particularly good. The principal is popular with the students and helps and guides students even personally. The students find the principal very well behaved and supportive.

The pharmacy college has a campus across the road, opposite to KSV college campus. The classrooms are just about average, benches are fine, but the classes do get un-comfortable during summers. The laboratories are equipped with the required set of chemicals, and tools needed for the experiments are available. Yet the issue here is the lab staff is not co-operative with students, and do not provide refill for the chemicals in the labs. Evolution has taught the boys to get this done from with the help of their female friends, which they willingly do. Initially the library was on the ground floor, but to make it more resourceful and modern, the college shifted the library to the 4th floor of the building which is now centrally air-conditioned and has good interiors. All the books that students need are available in multiple copies, and students are satisfied. Wi-Fi has not been setup yet, but students can access internet at the computer labs. 3 computer labs for Bio-statistics, and Bio-Mathematics are pretty organized, students can also use the same for preparing presentations.

There are almost no placements for B.Pharmacy students, which is a general trend all over the country. People prefer doing a masters course after their under-grad, and thus the trend for masters in the US is increasing. Some even pursue Masters Education in Management. Those who need jobs have to try off-campus and the competition in Pharmacy is tough, and the initial pay packages low at about Rs.10,000 per month.

Well, those who live in Gandhinagar find it easy to reach most of the colleges that are in the various sectors. The college is located in Sector 13, near KH 6 circle with other KSV colleges in the campus and across the road too. VTCOS buses make travelling inside Gandhinagar convenient. For those who travel from Ahmedabad it may be a bit of a hassle. Travelling by GSRTC buses, time and money wise are a better option. Sharing rickshaws are available from RTO and Kalupur areas. ST buses are frequent from Gandhinagar, but getting to other parts of Ahmedabad from the Northern exit would take time. Taking a BRTS from RTO would also be a convenient option.

There is no canteen specifically for K.B.Institute of Pharmacy, but the canteen in the opposite campus does the job well. The place is good, and the food tasty.

Well there is nothing much around, but getting to places in Sectors of Gandhinagar is not the any difficult. There’s Cinemax theatre in Ch-3 Sector 11, there is ‘chowpatty’ the road side eateries at the Gh-5 Circle and on the road that leads into the circle. Akshardham Temple in Sector 20 is a popular hangout destination to spend time with friends. For the more outgoing souls, Ahmedabad is not too far either, so a 20Km ride, and you can find a myriad of options to explore.

80% of the students are from Ahmedabad, and travel up-down daily, and the remaining are from around Gandhinagar and other districts. The ratio of boys to girls is about 3:2, and the interaction between the students is very good. Things are safe for girls and guys don’t get into fights in or around the college. Students are friendly and lively, and interact well.

The college insists that the students maintain an attendance of about 80% but students say that keeping a 50% attendance is really okay, and falling below that can call for trouble. Students themselves keep their attendance over 50%, so there haven’t been many cases where the college has had to take harsh steps, but in the worst case, a student can be debarred from appearing the exams. Discipline wise things here are pretty relaxed, and don’t feel like a jail, and there is no dress code to follow either.

K.B.Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research is a superb place to study with good faculties and other infrastructure in place. The downsides are lack of any kind of co-curricular activities. With the faculties if you set a good rapport once, you’ll be set for all the 4 years at the college. Also the college doesn’t have a canteen of its own. KSV is a reputed organization, and people have started considering it over GTU and other universities.
