Most of the faculty members here are good teachers; well educated, and experienced. So no tension about what you’ll learn at the college. Notably popular teachers includes Indian Economics teacher who the students say is really good. Also Macro Economics teacher is good, and the students say but overall the faculty consists of a good mixture of fresher and the more experienced senior professors. But all the teachers generally teach well. The teachers; all of them communicate with students in English.

The infrastructure of LSR is again the very typical and beautiful red-bricks architecture, which gives it an old school feel. The campus is spread over 15 acres, and the scene of the lawns in front of the building is quite pleasant. Over 60 years old, the college stands in all its glory with all the academic blocks of the various departments in the same building. The classrooms, are nice, but can be better if more spacious. The classrooms do not have air-conditioners, but are equipped with projectors nevertheless. The college also has a pretty decent Seminar Hall, and a huge Auditorium, always available for use to students. The library is a 3-storey structure and all the necessary books for the syllabus are always sufficiently available, and apart from that a lot of interesting reads are available. There is a separate section as a reading section and there’s internet access in the library too.

No points for guessing that the placement at LSR are 100%. Every student gets at-least one offer, and many a times even more than one. That’s the kind of opportunities waiting for you here. Some of the companies visiting the campus to hire students are Deloitte, Facebook, Ernst & Young, Google, and more. Coming to the money, average salaries offered to students here goes to a healthy 8 Lakh/year, and the highest till date has been a whopping Rs.32 Lakh a year. It’s awesome.

The college is located on Lala Lajpat Rai Path, and is a landmark in itself. However, for those who travel by the metro, the closest would be Moolchand Metro Station Violet line which is at a walkable distance from there. Many DTC bus routes ply to the college, and the college has a bus stop named after it, so no issues even if you have to take a bus to get to the college. But the no. of students who use these public convenience modes is only about 30% as the rest get their own vehicles.

The college also has its own hostel provision (The Residence Hall) with around 300 students, and is pretty decent, for those students who aren’t from Delhi-NCR.

The canteen for starters is very hygienic, which is a very good thing, looking at other college canteens. Talking about space, it is surprisingly spacious too. But again the main purpose of canteen is tasty food, which the students say that it is just about okay, nothing to boast about really. But if you can bear with the not-so-awesome taste, there is a lot of variety available for you to not get bored eating at the college; from Kebabs to Chinese, from North Indian to South Indian, from snacks to meals, there is everything you would want at a canteen.

A wide variety of individuals are at LSR, as people from different parts of the country have come to this college. People mix with each other but as such there is not much interaction with the seniors, apart from a miniscule ragging, ‘kind of introduction’ to seniors. Students at LSR are also very active when it comes to various societies and sports activities too. Dramatics society is also very active, and a student’s gets a lot of things to choose from to keep themselves involved.

‘Tarang’ is the annual cultural / academic festival celebrated, every year in December – January. Events include guest lectures by eminent personalities like Gul Panag, Kiran Bedi and Nafisa Ali to name some. There are most certainly, better festivals in Delhi university colleges than Tarang, but students do take part in Tarang, and try to enjoy themselves. But a nice thing would be that there is no gender bias during the festival, and guys are allowed to be a part too.

66% is the minimum attendance you need to have to be eligible to appear for the exams. At LSR, below this, you need sign a bond that says that you will compensate for the low attendance in the later semester. In the worst case scenario, if your attendance falls well below 66% then you may not be allowed to appear for the exams.

Although you'll get to meet a very diverse group of individuals, but the fun quotient would be low. LSR is always high on academics and at the end, you can be sure of a good on-campus placement.
