There are highly experienced faculties from first year to post grad. There are many teachers who have done PhDs and Chemical department has maximum number of doctorates. Communication takes place only in English during lectures but teachers are ready to help you in Gujarati when approached with doubts.

M. G. Science Institute is located in AES’ (Ahmedabad Education Society) campus. There are 2 other colleges namely LD Arts College & LM College of Pharmacy sharing the campus. Also there is LD college museum, an art gallery called ‘amdavad ni gufa’ which was built by MF Hussain and Zen café inside the same campus. Campus is pretty big but looking at so much empty space you feel that it could have been utilized in a better way. College infrastructure is average but all the facilities that are needed for academic purposes are available - comfortable classrooms, clean washrooms, well equipped labs, computers in good condition with active internet connections - everything. There are also playgrounds for cricket, hockey, football and basketball but they’re not properly maintained and one can see patches of grass cropped up here and there on the playgrounds.

A few companies come for campus interviews at MG Science Institute. They usually recruit Physics, Mathematics & Statistics students for research work. Some of the pass-outs of this college are working with ISRO. Also some go for teaching jobs. Chemistry students are offered jobs in Pharmaceutical companies but most of them have to try out off campus.

M. G. Science Institute is located right across Gujarat University campus in Navrangpura which is centrally located and is easily accessible by city buses from all parts of the city. Also BRTS bus stops of University and Andhjan Mandal are just about 1.5 km away, making connectivity even better and commuting quicker. Many students can also be seen travelling by their own two wheelers.

There are not separate hostels for MG Science Institute but students can stay in University hostels which are common to all the courses. Hostels are not luxury but they’re in pretty good condition. There are 5 to 6 different messes and food is good.

MG Science Institute is famous all over Gujarat and thus many students from outside of Ahmedabad come to study here. About 30% of the students are outsiders and stay in hostels. Girl – Boy ratio is almost 1:1. The crowd here is very friendly and warm. You can easily make friends here and gel with all in this college.

According Gujarat University rule 80% attendance is needed. College also insists on 80% attendance but they are stricter for attendance in labs than in theory. Overall the college is not extreme in discipline and attendance issues. But students here usually attend lectures irrespective of attendance rules.
