Students are quite divided, when it comes to talking about the faculty. Some professors are good, but many have communication problems. All in all, the faculty is average. The P-C-M-B faculty is good for the junior college, but for the languages it’s not up to the mark. In the senior college most professors are senior and good at teaching. “But its advisable to stay disciplined with them, or else be ready to face the consequences”, quotes a student.

The infrastructure is not bad, classrooms are clean and decently maintained. Seating arrangements aren’t up to the mark, though. “The labs are the best”, quotes a student. Library, reading hall, internet are some of the other facilities available. Beware of CCTV cameras though.

Not very good. It gets quite crowded & there’s no place to sit during lunch. Recently, the canteen has been improved, but just a bit. On the bright side, atleast its reasonably priced; a sada dosa costs you Rs.25, for example.

The crowd is very average, nothing exceptional. Some students come from village backgrounds, but most of the college is packed with the city-crowd. Most of the students tend to be inclined towards studies more than extracurricular activities. “It’s a little tapori crowd” says a student.

Cultural gatherings and days like Rose Day, Saree day and traditional day celebrated. However, it is said that there have been instances where anti-social youngsters got in and created trouble and hence festivals are avoided in general.

Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce is strict about the attendance and a minimum of 75% needs to be maintained. If your name comes on the defaulters list, parents are called and you are made to compensate for the attendance by sitting for extra lectures. Unless your rapport with the teachers is good, be ready to taste the music.
