Students of RIT are not happy with their teachers. Most of the teachers have little or no experience in teaching. In fact some of them have just completed their graduation and have started teaching.
Those few teachers who have good experience are also not really good at teaching. Overall the students are not satisfied with the faculty.

RIT has to heavily rely on Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) – its sister institute located 6km down NH4 away from Chennai – for infrastructure. RIT campus just has the college building & academic infrastructure. All other facilities have to be facilitated from REC. The classrooms of RIT are decent and quite spacious.

Placements are common with REC. TCS is the major recruiter here. Around 75% of the batch gets placed, which is a good number. But then again all of the jobs are from the IT sector.

Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (RIT) is located by the Chennai-Bangalore highway (NH4), around 30 km from Chennai Central. It is located approximately 8km from further from Poonamallee. RIT provides bus service but not many students opt for it. Charges for bus service are Rs 18,000. Most of the students travel by MTC buses, even though they are crowded but since they are light on pocket they are preferred. It takes approximately 2 hours from Central to reach here. Its proximity to the highway makes it accessible by the MTC buses.

The canteen is very small and food isn’t good. There is no variety in food and you should be resorting to eat here as your last option.

The crowd is dominated by students from Kanchipuram and Chennai. It is a rarity to find anyone apart from Tamilians here, and in case you aren’t one you better be knowing the language or it can be tough time here. You might feel like a fish out of the pond.
Around 40% of the students stay in hostels.

As per Anna University rules, 75% attendance is mandatory and Rajalakshmi Inst of Tech abides by it religiously. Students failing to attend 75% of the classes are detained; there is no relief in this matter.
When it comes to dressing, formals is compulsory and students not wearing them are not allowed to enter the college. Boys and girls are not allowed to talk to each other and sitting together during class is considered a taboo.

Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (RIT) can be a decent choice if placement is all you care about. For many things you need to depend on REC so make a choice keeping that in mind.
