Amazing. Having visiting faculties teaching you is a must for archi students and they have about 50 visiting faculties for all 5 years. All core faculties are PhDs. They’re highly committed, some even more than the students. There’s an extremely good student-teacher relationship – so good that students don’t hesitate to call up their teachers whenever they feel like it. Students rate their teachers a 10/10.

The RVCE campus is very nice and the School of Architecture (RVCA) building is also equally good. There are lovely courtyards, spacious classrooms and well lit studios. As the intake has increased so a little space crunch is felt in the studios. The library is common with engineering but all architecture related books are found there. Students feel that they should be given a separate, nicer library.

Located on Mysore Road, School of Architecture – RVCE aka RVCA is inside the RVCE premises. Though it is quite far from the centre of the city, it’s easily accessible as a lot of BMTC buses ply here. College also provides bus facility for 15,000 a year, but it is not used by many people.

There are 2-3 canteens but no variety is available in any. Only the south Indian food tastes good; north Indian food also tastes like south Indian most of the times. Sitting space is also not enough for the strength of students. Good part is that it’s very reasonably priced.

There’s nothing nearby. You’ll have to go to the city to find some decent hangouts.

There are a lot of nerds in RVCE, which is not the case in architecture. You can find students from all over India. Girls are a clear majority.

There’s no separate archi fest and they don’t participate in RVCE fests. In fact they hardly have time to do anything apart from academics.

A healthy student-teacher relationship means less number of lectures bunked by the students and an equally good co-operation from the faculty in case of genuine reasons. Students attend because they’re interested in learning and not because it’s mandatory. So the question of harsh action against defaulters doesn’t even crop up.

Definitely amongst the 3 best colleges in Bangalore for Architecture. The only down point is that architecture students are treated in the same manner as engineering students, which is not cool as their requirements and curriculum demands are way different.
