All the faculties are well qualified and there are specialized teachers for each field. Many of them are pursuing their doctorates. There are a few teachers who lack experience but students don’t have much of an issue with them. Teachers are neither very friendly nor too strict.

The huge gate at the entrance to Saveetha University itself will give you a fair idea as to what to expect once inside. Saveetha University campus has a number of buildings all adorned in white paint, for various courses offered on campus. There is a mini campus within the massive campus for Saveetha School of Engineering. The classrooms and labs are very okay, they don’t match to the standards the exteriors set.

Saveetha School of Engineering is located in the Saveetha University – Chennai (SUC) Campus which is located on NH4. When travelling away from Chennai it comes before Poonamallee. Although it is on a highway it is quite close to the city of Chennai, you may consider it to be a suburban area of Chennai.
The college is located on the highway so commuting is not a problem, there are many MTC buses plying on this route providing good connectivity to all parts of Chennai.
If your parents are over protective or you are still in the school mode, you can avail the service of the college buses which do transport you from home to college but at a decent cost.

The crowd here is a mixture of students from various states of India with high numbers of students from North Indian and North Eastern states. There are some students from the Andhra and Tamil Nadu. The students here aren’t of the geek type which you’d encounter in many Anna University colleges. They are of the rebellious kind who love everything except studying but do manage a decent score at end of semester. At times the students feel they are in captivity due to strictness of the college.

ICNEND is the annual technical festival organised by the students of Saveetha Engineering College. The college does see a decent footfall due to the number of students from other colleges in the campus also.
College participates in the annual Lunabotics Competition at NASA. One of the few teams from India, but again to participate all you need is to be able to finance yourself.
