Students don’t hold any grudges against their faculty. There’s a good mix of senior professors and junior lecturers, they say. A few are said to be troubling when communicating in English, but only occasionally. Amongst all departments at Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) department is said to have the best teachers.

Mahboob College campus hosts a school, a junior college, a degree college and a PG college apart from Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT). So although the campus is big it cannot be termed as ‘huge’ for five institutes sharing the same area. The engineering college has a relatively newer building with well-maintained labs and equipments in most departments (although mechanical engineering students complain of occasional problems with their equipments). The library is spacious and stores a good collection of books. There’s no Wi-Fi but internet access is provided in labs for which students need to take proper permissions. “One thing missing here is proper sports facility” says a student of SVIT.

No proper infrastructure, no proper management, no proper faculty, nothing good about it.
The only thing to be appreciated about it is the spacious toilets!!
Even the playground has been cut to half and commercialized.
The management won't care about the well being of students, their problems, neither the faculty... the staff keep whining about not haveing received salary for months...
They look for opportunities to suck money out of students
Annual day is conducted but, money will be collegeected, forcibly if necessary from each student, threatening them of attendance...
I wonder how they are managing the college
It should have been long shut down and sealed !!!
Long live !!

Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT) records about 15-20% placements. Infosys is the highest recruiter followed by Wipro BPO and Mahindra Satyam. Students from ECE, CSE and IT departments are the ones who get these jobs. Except for a couple, Mechanical and EEE students have to manage themselves. “Salaries offered are not very exciting either” says a final year student.

15-20% placements? seriously?
Not at all.
BPO's are maximum you get that too if you are lucky.

Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT) is part of the Mahboob College campus located at Patny within walking distance (about 1.5kms) of Secunderabad Railway Station. Clock Tower bus stop right outside the college premises gives access to all parts of the city as well as the outskirts. Its location is perhaps the best amongst Engineering Colleges in Hyderabad with series of RTC bus numbers 5, 7, 8, 10, 21, 22, 23, 25, 40, 47, 49, 211 and more adding up to 150 bus services. Unlike most other engineering colleges, there’s no college bus service – but with so many RTC buses doing the rounds, who needs it anyway!

It’s bigger than an average engineering college canteen but the space hasn’t been optimally utilized. Chairs and tables are not sufficient and as it’s difficult for students to find a place to sit during lunch hours, most of them prefer to carry their lunch boxes and eat in the classroom itself. Food quality is moderate and ‘egg fried rice’ is the most recommended dish here.

As Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT) is located in central Hyderabad, a lot of locals prefer to go for it over other distant colleges. Hence, the crowd is mostly from Hyderabad city itself. About 20% of the students come from other parts of the state but mix well with the locals. Overall there’s a friendly atmosphere with an equal number of sincere and mischief mongers.

Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT) recommends 75% attendance as per University rules and does not tolerate anything below 65% without genuine or medical reasons. Although students with low attendance are not detained, heavy fines may be charged depending on his/her earlier records and performance at college.

Once there’s no hope of getting into any of the top engineering colleges in Hyderabad, however distant they may be, Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology (SVIT) can be considered, mainly because of its fantastic location, not-so-bad faculty and the moderate placements scenario.

This is the worst possible college for engineering even if you don't have any option stop doing engineering but not this college... faculty are worst. They have grudges. Infrastructure facilities like benches tables boards and lab equipment are there but not in good shape. All people here are sadists. No placements & guidance.
