Teaching in Bhatia College is just about average. Lecturers don’t have in depth knowledge about their respective subject. Some lack years of experience while most of them fumble with English. A few of them are inaudible to students. Moreover, they aren’t even co-operative. All in all, students just attend lectures for the heck of it and there is nothing much to boast about.
The faculty at Shroff College is still better than the College of Science. Some teachers are so brilliant that students have a 100% streak in their lectures. Teachers for Arts have an excellent command over their English while Commerce professors are happy with Hindi.

T.P. Bhatia College is well developed as compared to the Shroff’s. The two buildings are separated by a huge, dirty and muddy playground where usually school kids (the science building is shared with school) are seen playing running around. Air-conditioned classrooms and auditoriums, neat and clean laboratories with all equipments, well maintained library with availability of books are one of the key points of this colleges infrastructure. There is internet connection in the college but students are allowed to use only if they get permission
Shroff College has just about okay classrooms without air conditioner. The library is equipped with books pertaining to finance, accounts, drama and history.

KES is located off S.V. Road, Kandivali West and is 5-7 minutes walking from Kandivali Railway Station. Since the college is pretty close to the main road, BEST bus frequency is excellent. Most of the students commute by bus while a few come by train.

The canteen of Bhatia College is pretty spacious and the prices are quite affordable to your pockets. The only drawback, which is the major one, is the taste. Almost all the dishes have a Gujarati taste and there are no specialties of this canteen. It’s better to have your own dabba, else rely on the local hangouts.

One of the hot favourite hangouts for any stud of this college is Royal Smoke (food, hooka joint and pool parlour). For ultimate past time, there is McDonald’s; Seasons and Delicacy are the immediate vegetarian restaurants to the college. Jain fast food is quite famous for its farsan while movie buffs enjoy the less expensive single screen Cinemax, outside Kandivali station.

Kandivali Education Society is a Gujarati mandal, hence more than 75% of the students are Gujju’s as both Bhatia and Shroff have Gujarati Minority Quota for their admissions. You don’t see a cosmopolitan background and most of the students are from the nearby suburbs. The college lacks studious crowd, enjoying life and wasting time is what they are usually involved in.

Even though 75% is must, the college authorities are pretty chilled out with attendance upto 45-50%. Warnings are given on regular basis and your residence is often filled with letters related to attendance, yet the college has not taken any strict action. In worst cases, parents are called.

If you’ve a better choice in hand, it’s better to go for that.
