Students of Vaishnavi Institute of Technology and Science say that the faculty is willing to take extra efforts to teach students which is appreciated by the students. Also, many of the teachers have been imported from other older colleges having considerable amount of experience. Teachers are young and also understand that the college is new, hence are not very strict with the students. Students opine that the ones who are active manage to get the best out of the faculty. Although the students are happy, many of the younger teachers are still to complete their MTech and are just BTech graduates.

Evident from its entrance and campus, Vaishnavi Institute of Technology and Science is a relatively new college in Bhopal with a clean and green campus. One gets to see a huge green lawn right in front of the college building, all well maintained and good looking. In terms of laboratories the college has new instruments in place along with most of the required apparatus while a few things are yet to come to the college. The fact that the college is new has helped it to established good laboratories which are better than many colleges in Bhopal. The reading room i.e. the library is of average quality, not many students are seen in the library. Classrooms are also new and well maintained. There is no WiFi facility in the college.

Because the college is new, no firm records of placements are available but students are hopeful that the placements will be average because the college is establishing itself as a good college in the vicinity.

Vaishnavi Institute of Technology and Science is located in the Bhojpur area, a dozen KM away from the main city and is a private engineering college established in 2010. The college provides for bus services in Bhopal which students generally use because the college is cut off from the better parts of the city. The campus is literally a stone’s throw away from the more famous Bhopal Institute of Technology Campus.

Apart from these factors, college hostels for both boys and girls are rented in the city and the campus doesn’t have any hostel buildings. These hostels are of average quality and students not comfortable with the strict rules of the hostels live as paying guests in the city. Also, students say that even if there was hostel facility available for them in the campus, no students would like to stay away from the city in the outskirts of Bhojpur.

The canteen not a big deal and does not serve anything great. The regular things like chips, cold drinks and things like samosa are the only things that are served.

The nearest mall is 12 KM away (C21 Mall) and as the college is far from the city, there are no apparent hangouts for the students after college gets over.

The crowd is a mix with many students from UP and Bihar, an average girl to boy ratio is around 1:5 in branches except Civil where hardly 1 or 2 girls are seen. Many seats in the college have been left vacant due to lack of admissions.

Students are not troubled a lot over attendance. Most of students who default are pardoned with fines. Attendance less than 50% makes the authorities call up the students’ parents and a few extra assignments are given for completion. Students are not detained for lack of attendance.

With the gradual fall of the colleges in the vicinity, Vaishnavi Institute of Technology and Science has a great potential to become a top college in the tier 2 colleges of Bhopal. But right now, the college is still new and many of its seats have fallen vacant- a problem that the college faces. Students are hopeful that when the placements pick up, the college will earn a good repute in Bhopal.
