However, students complain of inappropriate maintenance stating examples of the library (which often lacks necessary books) and Internet (which is slow and is accessible from very few computers). Efforts of the college authorities are appreciable as 8-10 different companies come to recruit and if students request, they're willing to bring in more companies. "Many students are not able fulfill the criteria of the companies and that is the major reason for low campus placements" states a final year student.

More than quarter of the seats go vacant; so you're already running short of people to interact with. And to add to it, majority of those who land up here are from surrounding rural or semi-urban areas having conservative backgrounds and not open to communication. Senior students told Stupidsid that Visvesvaraya College of Engineering & Technology (VCET) is extremely strict for the first year students. It becomes more relaxed for higher years but some rules like 'roaming in the campus' or ' going out of the campus' do not change.
