VJTI presents Technovanza
VJTI, Mumbai presents Technovanza, An Annual Techno - Management Event
Technovanza is the Annual Technomanagement Event organized by VJTI. The Objective of Technovanza is to educate people about the principles of Engineering and thus spreading the knowledge of Engineering and Technology to the society at large. Since 2001 when the first event was held, Technovanza has grown from strength to strength and it is now a highly anticipated event in the Institute’s calendar.

Technovanza is the Annual Technomanagement Event organized by VJTI. The Objective of Technovanza is to educate people about the principles of Engineering and thus spreading the knowledge of Engineering and Technology to the society at large. Since 2001 when the first event was held, Technovanza has grown from strength to strength and it is now a highly anticipated event in the Institute’s calendar. The event’s popularity has grown in leaps and bounds over the years and last year close to 20000 people from all over the country attended the event, leading to its grand success. Technovanza is the platform for students to apply the theoretical knowledge they gather in class-rooms and use it practically by making exhibits that can explain engineering principles to lay people. It is a great opportunity for students to showcase their potential and helps them in two ways. They make the exhibits with their own hands and then explain the concepts to the people who visit their stalls. The confidence the students get in first developing a concept, developing the prototype and then demonstrating it in front of people, goes a long way in making them ready to face the real world. The three day event has a various activities which are of interest to all type of visitors, young and old who visit or participate in the event. The Conference provides a great platform for people to keep abreast of the latest developments. There are many lectures by eminent speakers and group discussions in which many experts take part. For students and youngsters who visit there are a lot of competitions in which they can take part and win prizes. Parents and elders can visit the Exhibition and understand how various gadgets which they use in every-day life work. To the under-privileged students in schools the social initiative Pratigya brings technology to their door-step and inspires them to become engineers tomorrow. The power of Technovanza is seen by the number of eminent personalities who take part each year. Over the years a lot of companies have shown keen interest in associating with the event and help us by sponsorships, which enable us continuously to improve the Event. And as the events grow in quality and size it becomes a news event and results in tremendous media coverage which adds to its popularity. It is our endeavor to make the 2013-14 edition a bigger and better one with high quality projects and a great seminar. It is my dream that Technovanza will be established in the years to come as a national event befitting the status of VJTI.

TECHNOVANZA LECTURE SERIES:
What:- 'You can invent' and 'Online tools for prototyping and marketing your invention'
Who :- Praveen - President of Sharada Solutions, Coimbatore is a pioneer in the field of Wind and Solar plants and reduction of energy consumption. He holds a patent in developing low energy lighting, transportation and air conditioning and has invented the pedal powered centrifugal pump and generator. As the Director of Renewable Energy at a University, he implemented South India's first automated wind turbine that powered 20 LED street lights from wind energy alone for 9 months. A mechanical engineer from the University of Southern California, his talk on 'You can invent' has been delivered in more than 50 leading engineering colleges and schools in India and UAE .He founded the 'World of invention' group on Facebook that has about 13,000 members and 300+ latest invention videos. He has presented thrice on TEDx, the last one being at TEDx Sharjah in 2012.

What :- Overclocking
Who :- Harshal Tank – India’s Leading XtremeOverclocker entered the world of Xtreme OverClocking with 5 world records for GPU (Hwbot.org) in 2008 using liquid nitrogen (LN2) for cooling on processor as well as graphics card. Overclocking is the process of making a computer or component operate faster than the clock frequency specified by the manufacturer by modifying system parameters. Mr. Tank has represented India in various International OverClocking Championships. Since his entry, he has custom built not only gaming systems, but also the cooling solutions for Xtreme OverClocking. After so many years, Harshal still remains leading Xtreme-OverClocker for India.

Who :- Agnelorajesh Athaide, Chairman & MD, St Angelo's Computers Ltd brings a story that starts at a small bindi factory to building one of Mumbai’s oldest and largest computer education companies, St. Agnelo’s Computers Ltd (SACE). For his work and his contributions to the community, Agnelorajesh has received several national and international accolades.An entrepreneur with a heart , he will talk about the country’s growth story, social entrepreneurship and need for inspiring leadership backed with powerful case studies.

Who :- Shantanu Bhagwat, after a 4 year stint with the Indian Foreign Service resigned to join Monitor Co., a leading strategy consulting firm in London, joining Europe’s top technology venture capital firm later. However, enthralled with the idea of “fixing” the system as well as building credible political alternative to the “establishment” parties in India, Bhagwat’s career changed course. Shantanu is the author and publisher of one of India’s Top 3 blogs on politics, history and culture and a column in Times of India(Reclaiming India). He is an investor and advisor to Myntra, Innoviti, Elements Akademia, MilkMantra and Vindhya e-Infomedia. He also sits on the Board of Directors of India Policy Institute in New Delhi.
