Job Description:
I work as a support engineer at Microsoft India R&D Pvt. Ltd. My team provides support to enterprise and corporate clients facing technical issues with Microsoft prodcuts purchased. We have to directly communicate with clients most of the time unless the problem is urgent and serious, in which case, we escalate it to our seniors.
There's a lot to learn from a product's perspective - Firstly you need to know and understand how products should work when there are no issues. Then try and figure why it's not behaving in the expected way under the particular situation and hence provide the correct solution.
Experience at Work:
It's been an amazing one year since I got working at Microsoft. I would tag it as one of the best places in India to work at. Awesome environment.
Advice to the juniors:
Just decide what you want to do down the line. Dont think about what the others are doing. Industry work is much different than what we learn in college so be open to whatever company you put in. Communication skills are very important.
