Just like any other engineering college, the teaching staff at AMC is a mix of senior and junior ones. The senior teachers are well versed their subjects. And the junior teachers make up for their lack of experience by their dedication and they try to give their best during the lecture. The rapport between the students and teachers is pretty good.

Teachers do not reduce/increase any internal marks due to personal grudges/favouritism. I'm a student of AMC and I certainly don't agree with this statement.

Spread over 52 acres of land the huge AMC campus has aesthetically designed buildings for each department. There is an excellent and well maintained football ground right at the centre of the land. Other outdoor sports facilities include basketball and volleyball courts. Facilities for indoor sports like Table tennis, chess and carrom are also there. Classrooms are well ventilated and the four seater metal benches are comfortable enough to spend 6 to 8 hours a day. Campus is enabled with WiFi connection without any restriction on usage. Additionally there is an Internet Centre equipped with a number of latest terminals with 15 Mbps dedicated internet connectivity and is open all year round. Library has all the latest books in suffiecient quantities. There is a separate reference library in the new adjacent building. Labs are well equipped. There are state of the art seminar halls and conference halls which are used to conduct lectures, presentations and technical conferences.

Major MNCs like Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Bosch are the regular visitors to the AMC Engineering College during the placement season. Infosys & TCS recruits students in big numbers. The Training and Placement Officer has good contacts with many companies and thus you can expect loads of MNC's visiting the college. Students who are eligible will be certainly placed. Though a lot of software companies are seen in this college, the placement section is definitely improving each year. About 90% of the students get placed.

There is no melange fest.
Hardly 20 students get placed during college campus.
Infosys is the only reputed company that is regular visitor (pool campus). Hardly 10-15 students get placed in Infosys.
There is no Bosch, TCS and TechMahindra.
Placement are poor in AMC!!! It's getting worse every year.

AMC Engineering College is located on the Bannerghatta Main Road in the region of Kalkere in far south of Bangalore. The college is well known and thus finding the college is very easy. BMTC buses run frequently and bus stop is located right beside the college gate. Almost same numbers of students travel by bus and bikes. AMC is conveniently located- it is just 7kms from IIM Bangalore and is also close to Electronic City and Jayanagar. Despite far from the main city, AMC is easily accessible from all major locations of the city.

AMC has got huge hostels which can accomodate nearly 500 boys and 200 girls in separate buildings. Students find the twin sharing rooms small. Washrooms are cleaned only once in a while. Mess food is not bad. Once a week students are treated with a speciality dish. Hostel charges are Rs. 40,000/- per annum including the mess food.

There are two major canteens which offer great multi-cuisine food for both resident students and day scholars. A leading cafe chain has set up its operations on campus offers snacks, coffee, sandwich and pastries. VP Bakery is the most visited stall by the students. South Indian delicacy and thali (lunch plate) are the hot favourite items at the college canteen.

Bannerghatta National Park, Meenakshi Mall and Mega Mall are the standard places where you see AMC’ites chilling out. There’s a sutta parlour next to the college which is pretty famous amongst the boys, obviously.

Almost 60% of the students are from the main city of Bangalore while the rest come from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. There are almost equal number of outside Bangalore students from North and South. Like every other engineering college, AMC too has a boy’s dominated crowd. Crowd is friendly and students from various backgrounds are seen mingling with each other. There are many nerdy students but they know how to balance their academic and non academic life.

Following the strict 85% VTU norms, AMC students have to maintain this mark compulsorily with a 10% grant. Below 75%, students have to pay a fine which is proportionate to the severity of shortage of attendance. In the first week of the new semester, students have to pay a fine of Rs. 200 per day on lack of attendance. It’s advised to maintain atleast 60% else the chances of detaining and/or heavy fine are high.
AMC has a complete ERP solutions which helps the parents to monitor student’s attendance, marks, examination results, teacher’s remarks, and continuous progress of academic and extracurricular activities from the comfort of their home.

ECE and CS are the hot favourite streams of this college. Though there are better options for engineering colleges in Bangalore, AMC Engineering College is certainly a good bet for those who have scored average to above average in the entrance tests.
