The college boasts some good academics overall, but it lacks hygiene and proper drinking water facilities.
Library has got some limited books and can be developed further, faculties are kind enough until you are not dragged into any miscreancy yourself, attendance wise yeah! they are quite strict.
The college campus is small and sometimes feels overcrowded, no wi-fi.

The classes are spacious and airy, and so is the building. In the middle is a huge basketball ground with the academic building around it. Although the classrooms aren’t air conditioned, they are well ventilated. The benches are comfortable with some classes having the typical school type 4 seater while the rest having 2 seater. Labs are good and well equipped with the necessary instruments and computer software. The library is up-to-date with all the books and their latest editions too, so that students have no issues while studying. There is internet access in the library, with wifi internet available in one’s respective departments. Different departments are located in different buildings.

hen I talked to the final year students they believe they will get placed easily if scores are above 70% in all semesters! Overall the college has a very bright future. It is the best option for students with CET rank from 12000-25000

Placement seems to be slow pace as the college depends on consultancy services and have minimum exposure to the outside world and companies.

Sambhram Institute of Technology (SaIT) is a landmark in itself, located in MS Palya, Jalahalli. If you are taking a BMTC from The Majestic Bus Terminal, 266 – 401 buses drop you to the college, in maximum 15 minutes. Roughly half of the students come to college by the BMTC buses. The college also has a bus service for students in the city and the charges are nominal too.

About hostels; there are 3 types of hostels, named by students based on the popular culture. There is the NRI hostel, which is like a luxury hotel, with attached bathrooms. This hostel is the best out of the 3, with Rs.45,000 fees per annum. Sadly, it’s 3 kms away from the college. Then there is the OLD hostel which is in the campus, has common toilets, which are clean and well maintained, just that the infrastructure is old. The fee here is Rs. 40,000. The last is a Sri-Lankan hostel, as students call it, because it is inhabited by Nepali and Sri Lankan students, and the trend continues every year. Students are free to choose any hostel without any bias. The boys as well as the girls hostels are safe.

The canteen (which is now improved) looks big and spacious with a decent variety of food served in there. Food has also improved with time now. It’s a good place to chill with friends but more importantly, lunch is served which is very popular. North Indian and South Indian lunch makes canteen pretty famous because then people don’t have to face a hard time trying to adjust to the local meals here. The lunch cost 30-35 rupees which is economical and worth.

Most popular hangout here is certainly the OVAL, known for its high spirits. Then there is Mantri Mall in Kodigehalli. Nandi hills are a popular trekking destination. Malleshwaram, though quite far is popular for road side eateries. On New B.E.L. Road you can find McDonalds, and KFC, near Ramiah college area. For the idli-dosa lovers, there are plenty of ‘tiffin’ stalls around serving the most awesome idlis steamed in the world, well, not so much, but yeah, they are good.

Just about half of the students here are from Bangalore the rest have hailed from various parts of the country, especially from Kerala, Bihar Jharkhand and West Bengal and some have flown overseas too. There are students from Nepal and Sri Lanka (of course y’all know that and also the hostel they reside in). Crowd is friendly and lively with people from such varied backgrounds mixing very well. Although girls are less in general, relatively there are more girls in CS and IS branches and are absolutely ‘normal’ unlike other colleges where they don’t talk and mingle. Overall in a gist, the crowd is nice and simple, with the lecture bunkers being the toppers and the basketball players not far away.

SaIT is pretty strict about attendance and a minimum of 85% (VTU norm) is needed else big troubles await you. 10% lower attendance is considered only in case of medical issues. If you go below that, you can’t help yourself from being detained. Also you could try your rapport with your professors if that helps you out.
The discipline at the hostel is lenient, and you can walk in back till 11pm in the night. The girls though have to be back in the nest by 7pm at max. There is no specific uniform for the students, but EC and CS have a dress code once a week. And of course the mech. labs have their own dress code.

On the overall context the college seems to be good, but can be developed and made students' favourite if the admin people pay some attention towards the pathetic condition of the college and save it from becoming a history in the future.
