The faculty at Dhanalaskhmi College of Engineering (DCE) is not very experienced. Even though the teachers are young, they don’t share a good rapport with the students. They are quite strict.

Campus of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering (DCE) is huge and the overall environment of the college is good, with nice big grounds. The labs are not well equipped. Many a times the equipment doesn’t work. Mechanical and Civil are relatively newer departments and still in the process equipping the labs. The college is renovating some parts of the college. Other facilities include table tennis, chess, carom, basketball, volleyball and a gymnasium.

The placements at Dhanalaskshmi College of Engineering are very decent, not at all great. Most of the students are employed by software companies and that too not a good job profile. The average package ranges from 78,000 to 3,25,000 per annum. Not many core companies coming to the college, those really interested in working in them have to apply off- campus.

Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering is located in Manimangalam, a small place 10 km from Tambaram on Kishkhinta Road. The college is quite far from the city. It is located in the interiors and the main road is approximately 1.5 km away. There is no MTC bus plying on this route so students have to depend on the college bus or maybe travel by their own vehicle. The college bus fees are Rs 19,000 a year. The college is very much isolated and there is not much civilization around.

This is the worst college in the whole world.. everything is compulsory in this college.. the food smells like crap for which we have to pay 20000 and more every year.. this is the only college in the whole world in which the staff working in mess orders the student in spite of knowing it is the students money because of which their lives are running smoothly.. how can an illiterate idiot order a student?? I request each and everyone of you not to admit your sons or daughters in this college. Food fees compulsory, book fees compulsory but we must return the books and the books are of poor standards. They don't even clean the toilets. A bad odour catches you if you enter the toilet. This college is robbing money so my suggestion is to not join this college. Main drawback there is no placement in this college, you have 100 percent chance of not getting a job from this college.

The canteen doesn’t serve anything hot. Most of the times only packed items are available. The mess food also is very bad. Students do have a serious problem regarding food here.

Most of the students are from the southern part of India. There are a few North Indians who dwell in the hostels. Most of the hostel-ites are from North and North-East. North Indians are usually found complaining as they aren’t used to the strict system here down under.

There are many symposiums happening in the college. Most of the participants are students of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering and a few from nearby colleges among others. The cultural festival isn’t very famous and it's rather dull.

The college has kept fines for every rule break; be it not attending the college or not wearing an id card, there are fines for every tiny little thing. Rs 50 in cases you take a leave and Rs 30 if you are found without the ID card. As can be guessed from the fines, the attendance is very strict.
Adorning formals is compulsory and so is opting for mess food. Yes, you can’t get your own lunch unless you have any medical reason.

It is a worst college I've ever seen. They force you to pay many fees during mid years such as lab manuals, id cards, notes etc (20000rs approximately). They will not give books to read but it is compulsory to pay rs 20000 every year) they force to return every book. There are no qualified and good teachers. The food is too bad (but compulsorily they collegeect 20000 per year from every student). I request Anna University to take severe action after seeing this

My humble request not to admit your ward in the college due to the following reasons.
•It is a worst college I ever seen.
•They are eating our hard earned money.
•Books are Compulsory for that they are charging Rs.19,000.- and the books are giving by recycling method, they are giving only Local Author books.
•The Mess is Compulsory and they are not maintaining properly, foods are worst for that they are charging Rs. 16,000/- water is also bad
