The professors are said to be co-operative and well experienced. Senior professors form the major chunk of the faculty. Many a times reputed advocates and judges are invited to take guest lectures.

There are two huge campuses – One which hosts the Engineering & Management Colleges and one which hosts the Medical Colleges. The Law College is in the former and it shares the building with the Management College. The infrastructure is pretty much satisfactory but nothing to be proud of.

The college welcomes a large number of top legal firms, corporates, advocates and counsels who recruit the students. Many students have been placed with the top legal firms of India. But on an average only about 10% students take placements, others opt for higher studies.

Dr. DY Patil Law College is located right behind the Mumbai Pune highway (old) in Pimpri. Travelling by buses is a little inconvenient, because although a number of buses ply on the highway, the college is a 20 minute walk from the bus stops. A vehicle is always preferable.

There is no canteen which the college can call for itself. Although this may come as a shocker for many students, only hostel-ites get the liberty to use the canteen. Others have to manage somehow.

There is a McDonald’s nearby, where students often hang out. Other than this, there is Big Cinema, E-square, and something called Dakshin. The "golawala" right outside the college is quite popular. “RR ki Tapri” is another hangout snack joint.

A trip to the supreme court is organized by the college for practical exposure to the students. Besides curricular activities there is an annual gathering where students take part in cultural activities like music, arts and dance competition. There’s also a fresher’s and a send off party.

The college is particular about attendance and minimum requirements need to be fulfilled as prescribed. However, if students wish to participate in moot court competitions or other academic related activities the college encourages them to do so. Attendance for the missed lectures is granted in that case.

Its an average college which could a good option for students residing in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region of Pune. Nothing too great about it but nothing too bad about it either.
