What can you expect when you’re reading a review of the 7th best Law College in India? Awesome! Well, the teaching staff is genuinely class apart and professors for subjects like family law, evidence and arbitration are truly brilliant. Obviously, there is no need to argue about their communication. The command over their English is amazing along with in depth knowledge of the subject is just something to look for.

The minute you step in the college, there is pin drop silence in the campus. Almost everything in the college seems punctual and disciplined. ILS has three buildings in the huge green campus with non AC classrooms. All the lecture halls are equipped with LCD projectors while the library is filled with hundreds of volumes pertaining to legality.

The placements at ILS are definitely one of the best in India though they aren’t 100%. Some students do fall below the criteria, hence are not eligible. Khaitan and ESK are one of the standard companies that recruit students from ILS. The average pay package is generally around 7 lakhs per annum though the highest has been 14 lakhs, once!

ILS is so good that it has an entire street named after it. That would mean, yes, its on Law College Road. It's a five minute walk away from the very famous FC road, so getting here shouldn't be a hassle. Most students use two wheelers as PMT buses are, well, quite awful. ILS is definitely the best law college in Poona, and also ranked in the top ten of India.

Well, the canteen is just like the canteens in other Pune colleges. There is nothing special apart from tea and poha. The food is definitely edible and economical.

As Law College road is 10 minutes away from FC road, which arguably has all the possible food stalls in Pune, life outside ILS is pretty happening. You often find students at Coffee houses like CCD and Barista, sometimes discussing their law topics. When you’re at FC road, you probably don’t know what all to eat as there are innumerable stalls cum restaurants serving delicious food items at affordable prices. The local tapri near the back gate of Ferguson College is the most crowded area.

Since it’s one of the best colleges in India, you can expect crowd to come from all parts of the country though most of the students are from Pune and other cities in Maharashtra. The crowd is pretty much nerd and is full into studies but at times you find a few studious fellows to work and play for the college festival and sports respectively. One thing is for sure that you won’t meet any rowdy people as almost everyone comes from a respectable background.

When you’re in a law college, expect the name of the festival also to be legal. ‘Legalease’, the annual festival of ILS, Law College, is held in December.

Law College is extremely strict in matters related to attendance. 75% is must and if a student falls in the range of 65-75%, he/she has to pay a fine of Rs. 250/-. If below 60, the college authorities don’t allow you to sit for the exams, and you get a year drop. “This has happened in the past and students are advised to take it seriously”, as quoted by one of the students.
