Top Faculty Reviews ALL Faculty REVIEWS

Students are pretty much satisfied with the faculties. As teachers they do their duty whole heartedly. If the students still have doubts left the teachers are very approachable and they clear the doubts students have. These are called Mentroship sessions. Teachers take the lectures on time and make it a point to complete the course. There are very few junior professors and the faculty consists mostly of senior and experienced teachers. Faculties taking computer networks and computer organisation subjects are quite popular among the students. But when it comes to giving marks for the internals they are not lenient, so you need to score well in internals if you want to secure good marks at the end.

Top Infrastructure Reviews ALL Infrastructure REVIEWS

The college doesn’t have a campus and is just a building with glared glasses on the outside which give it a corporate look. Infrastructure overall can be rated a 7 on the scale of 10 with fully air-conditioned classrooms and single seater chairs that are way more than comfortable. The college has an underground seminar hall that students can use to give presentations. The college also has a well-furnished auditorium too. Students seem pleased with the facilities provided by the college. There are 2 general computer labs for the practical sessions of different subjects. And there’s a separate lab altogether for LINUX/UNIX subjects. 80% of the machines at labs are updated with the latest hardware and software. The college is a Microsoft certified partner, so students can order for any software they need and the college will get it. Internet can be accessed at the labs or wirelessly over WI-FI in the entire campus. The gymnasium has been recently equipped with modern machines. Indoor sports facilities like Carrom, TT, Chess etc. are available. A little thing that irritates the students is that the management charges Rs 500 fine for tiny little things.

That’s a place where the college is good at with about 70% of the students getting placed at reputed companies. Few of the companies visiting the campus are ICICI, Airtel, Tommy Hilfiger, Pepsico, Vodafone, Capital IQ, TCS, CVent, etc. The training and placement officer keeps in touch with companies well so that they visit the campus when they need to hire the students. The main reason for others not getting placed would be the high eligibility criteria of various companies or the students’ choice of not opting for the same. The average package offered here is Rs 3,00,000 per annum and the highest offered to a BBA student is said to be 12 lakh rupees. In fact another high salary overseas placement offered to an MBA student was 35 lakh rupees. Pretty amazing, if true!

Management Education Research Institute is located in the very popular institutional area of Janakpuri D-Block and the closest metro station would be Tilak Nagar on the Blue Line. Those who prefer travelling by DTC buses can get dropped right outside the college. So getting here by public conveniences is not an issue at all. But out of all the students only 50% would be the ones using the public conveniences, the rest get here by their own vehicles.

All that the students want to say about the canteen is VERY BAD. All they have to serve is STALE FOOD. And that’s not it, the only things available are bread pakodas and samosas that are anything but cheap.

When you are anywhere in Janakpuri the first place you would think to go would obviously be the district centre (fondly known as DC). There are a lot of places to eat right outside the college and you’ll always find these stalls crowded, so you can be sure of the food being tasty. There’s also a PVR cinema at Prakashpuri. Students who have friends at IITM, which is right behind the college go there to chill.

The crowd is a standard mixture of students coming from the Delhi and NCR regions. The crowd is mixing and fun to be around with and there is a little celebration every week. The boy to girl ratio is decent 55 : 45.
Each Saturday there are alumni talks. There are clubs for Guitar, Drums, Theatre etc. College cricket team has been doing great in tournaments. There is also an active entrepreneurship cell.

When you first come to the college as a new student, for your reception there’ll be a fresher’s party at which you’ll not be having any dinner. Nor is the party any great event either but when you have friends around you can have fun anywhere in the world.

75% set by the university is followed by the college, and failing to satisfy that may get you to pay a fine. Students say that if you’re somewhere around 70% you need to pay Rs. 500, below 65% : Rs 1000 and below 60% : Rs 1500. Apart from the monetary fine you have to compensate by writing assignments.

MERI is a decent college to consider for higher education as the faculty and infrastructure is good. If you put in some efforts, the college is also supportive in terms of placements.
