The faculty members of MNM Jain Engineering College have an average experience of 4-5 years. Almost all the teachers hold Maters’ degree. Thankfully there are no teachers who are just B.E pass-outs or have no experience whatsoever. But a down point is lack of a PhDs; not all departments have PhD holding teachers. The teachers are strict and students don’t have a good rapport with them.

MNM Jain Engineering College does have a campus as huge as many of the other engineering colleges located in the suburbs & outskirts of Chennai, in fact bigger than some of them. Juxtaposed to the college is the 'MNM Sports village', which has great sports facilities. It has facilities for track and field, basketball, football, cricket and ball badminton. Among the indoors it does have almost all games facility.
MNM Jain College has a central library and smaller individual libraries in each department. The libraries are well stocked. The department library borrows books from the central library.

Placements at MNM Jain Engineering College are not very impressive. There are around 20 companies coming to college which offer placements to approximately 50% of the batch. Most of the companies are from the IT sector. Civil and Mechanical students don’t find placement easily. College provides assistance in finding jobs to students even after their graduation. Many of the civil and mech students are placed then.

Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College is located on the OMR (IT highway) near the southern city limits. There are lots of colleges on this road as you go further away from city. MNM Jain College of Engineering is probably the first college that you encounter travelling away from Chennai near Thoraipakkam. Accessibility is not an issue here as the college is located just 500 meter off the OMR and the bus stop is situated quite nearby. There are many MTC buses which ply on most of the Chennai city routes. The college also provides a bus service but the routes on which they travel are limited. They have a relatively small fleet unlike the other farther colleges on OMR. Some students do travel by their own vehicles also.

The college has a canteen which serves food at highly subsidized rates. The canteen serves Jain food also. The food is nowhere close to delicious. For students strictly having Jain food, this is a good place to satiate their hunger as it is difficult to find Jain food elsewhere in the city.

The food is pretty good. After haveing been to 42 colleges in Chennai, I'm more than qualified to comment about the food, it's very decent and good, and you get Gulab Jamuns and ice cream!

MNM Jain Engineering College as the name suggests has a Jain religious minority quota. Around 30% of the students are Jains, although the provision by quota is higher. If you are a Jain getting in here can be a cake walk. The students are decent at studies and some of them are even good in sports. There are a good number of students coming from North Indian states. This is one of the few colleges where students can be seen conversing in Hindi. The crowd isn’t very serious about studies but surprisingly their academic performance has not been too poor.

Each department has a symposium conducted based on their stream. Cognit – a festival organised by the CSE dept, is most famous among other symposiums held at MNM Jain Engineering College. Cognit is a decent festival and has a few colleges participating in it. The events again are the ones that you will find in every other college, nothing really great.

Attendance is quite strict here. Students need to maintain 75%, below which students aren’t allowed to appear for the exam. There are a fixed number of days for which students can take a leave. If remained absent more than that, student will need to produce a medical certificate. Unlike most of the private engineering colleges in Chennai, MNM Jain Engineering College isn’t very strict in day to day matters; just that you need to say the Jain prayer (Navkar Mantra) every morning.

Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College (MNMJEC) is a decent option if you don’t want to travel too far outside the city. The college is not among the best college but can be considered if you don’t get in the top rung colleges.

Cognit is one of the largest symposiums in the city, coming 5th in strength after IIT, CEG, MIT and SSN... there were 1230 participants in the latest edition. AND there were events in Cognit which CANNOT be found in any other symposium till thate... My nickname is the 'Symposium king', I have been to 42 symposiums in my college life, and won over 60 prizes... trust me, I know which colleges have the best techfests...
