Most of the teachers in each department are inexperienced; some have just completed their engineering and have started teaching immediately after. Most of the departments don’t even have a single PhD professor. The faculties also have problems in the conversing in English; in fact students find it really difficult to understand what their teachers say.

PB College of Engineering has average infrastructure. Labs are decent, with the entire equipment working fine. Although much equipment needed by higher years are missing. However students here seemed to be happy with whatever they have and have no complaints regarding their labs. Probably this satisfaction is due to ignorance.

The college doesn’t provide you with good placement. Not even half the batch is placed. Only a handful of companies come but they are also IT companies with a not so enviable profile. CTS and HCL are two of the famous companies coming here.

PB College of Engineering is located off the Chennai Bangalore Highway in an area known as Sriperumbudur. The college is accessible as it lies just off the highway, there are very frequent buses to Poonamallee from where you get buses to many parts of Chennai. Students here travel either by MTC buses or college bus. If you are staying in Chennai you will take a minimum of an hour and a half to reach PB College.

Canteen food is pathetic. There is no non-veg food available and the veg food, the students claim is not edible at all.
Mess food is also not appreciated by students, many of whom have turned vegetarian the reason being the quality of non-veg food served here.

College has a Telugu minority quota so obviously they are aplenty here. However most of them are from Chennai itself. Very few hostelites are there. PB College does have some North Indian students who feel like fishes out of water.

Imperio is the annual technical festival of PB College. The festival isn’t anything great, just the few clichéd events which you will see in almost all the festivals in the country. Paper presentation does see some participation from other colleges but the other events have only PB college students participating.
Sports festival is also conducted, which is apparently decent. Here too cricket is the main show stealer.

PB College isn’t very strict regarding attendance. If you able to keep it 60% or above. Below that you need to be ready for a strict action. Like most of the other colleges, formal dressing is compulsory, but the rule is quite weird because denims are still acceptable but not shirts with two pockets.

PB College of Engineering is not on the extreme end in case of discipline which is probably the only reason to join it. Otherwise consider it only if you are desperate to do engineering and the good colleges aren’t taking you.
